<p>The Position</p> <p>Tax Examiners are responsible for licensing/registration, collecting taxes and fees, and assisting taxpayers to ensure compliance with the applicable tax and registration statutes.</p> <p>Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation. OR Incumbents perform basic tasks or elements of the job not requiring the additional knowledge, skills and abilities to perform at the next level in the series.</p> <p>The Department of Taxation is seeking to fill a vacant Tax Examiner 1 underfill for a Tax Examiner 2 position. This position is for an Excise Tax Examiner in the Carson City Office. Tax Examiners are responsible for assisting taxpayers with registrations, collection of fees and resolving account issues. The incumbent must research files to determine reporting history, reconcile receipts, monies collected and corresponding documents within each category to ensure proper tax collection and distribution to accounts.
