<p>OVERVIEW:</p> <p>Assists electricians by performing tasks under the direct supervision of a Licensed electrician. This role will be located at our Prefabrician Building in Aurora. We have a very limited number of spaces for this internship</p> <p>General Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Works with a commitment to safety </li><li>Upholds the core values of Encore Electric </li><li>Acts as a professional and uses basic work ethics </li></ul> <p>o Comes to work on time every day with appropriate attire and tools</p> <ul> <li>Keeps work area clean </li><li>Installs quality work in a neat and workmanship like manner </li><li>Treats tools with respect </li><li>Works and climbs on ladders, lifts, and elevated platforms </li><li>Identifies electrical parts and components </li><li>Perform strenuous physical work i.e., digging, kneeling, shoveling, lifting, pulling, pushing, climbing </li><li>Keeps up with changing technology </li><li>Keeps up with the national electrical code </li><li>Wears tools at all required times </li><li>Work in all weather conditions </li></ul> <p>Specific Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for communications including tell back procedure </li><li>Handle material required for the job </li><li>Install raceways, pull wire, and mount equipment </li><li>Assemble and install small to large electrical parts and pieces </li><li>Trim outlets, recessed cans and other repetitive finish work </li><li>Perform duties as assigned by lead people </li><li>Sweep the jobsite </li><li>Take out trash from the jobsite </li><li>Move material upon request </li><li>Prepare the jobsite for work the next day </li><li>Ensure the jobsite is clean and clear of clutter </li><li>Operate a broom, shovel, wheelbarrow etc. as necessary for cleanup purposes </li></ul> <p>Other duties as may be assigned</p> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</p> <p>Knowledge of:</p> <ul> <li>Algebra and geometry </li></ul> <p>Skill in:</p> <ul> <li>Acting as a self-starter </li><li>Spatial orientation </li><li>Listening </li><li>Speaking intelligently </li><li>Estimating resources needed to complete required tasks </li><li>Adapting to new and changing requirements, environments, and/or information </li><li>Effective written and oral communication sufficient to be able to elicit and communicate information and achieve understanding </li><li>Organizing work to accomplish tasks </li><li>Reading and writing </li><li>Prioritizing and reprioritizing to meet job needs </li><li>Identifying and managing risk </li><li>Problem solving </li><li>Tracking numbers and bits of data relevant to the work assignment </li></ul> <p>Ability to:</p> <ul> <li>Retain and access critical information from memory </li><li>Think on your feet </li><li>Understand when to speak and when not to speak </li><li>Be personally detached from ideas (no ego) </li><li>See things from multiple perspectives </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>A functional physical is required to be completed and passed before work can be performed in all field positions. The physical requirements can often be completed repetitively and for extended periods of time.
