<p>Position Title: Assistant Principal - Elementary</p> <p>Reports to: Elementary Principal</p> <p>FSLA: Exempt</p> <p>Summary of the position: Provides support to the instructional process with specific responsibility for directing assigned school programs and services at an elementary school.</p> <p>Qualifications: Appropriate state certification. Demonstrated aptitude and/or abilities for performing the tasks required. Such other qualifications or academic, professional, and personal excellence as may be specified.</p> <p>Supervises: Any personnel serving in the assigned school as assigned by the principal.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Assist building principal in administration of the elementary school. </li><li>Assume the administrative responsibility of the principal when he or she is not present in the building. </li><li>Assist the building principal in supervising and counseling with teachers concerning teacher-teacher, teacher pupil, teacher-parent, and teacher-assignment problems. </li><li>Participate in and, at times, conduct staff and professional meetings. </li><li>Assist in acquiring substitute teachers. </li><li>Assist the building principal with curriculum development and evaluation in the assigned elementary building. </li><li>Assist the building principal with supervision and evaluation of classroom management and instructional techniques in the assigned elementary building. </li><li>Assist the Director of Transportation in administering the school corporation's transportation system, dealing specifically with his school on a daily basis. </li><li>Assume any responsibilities as may be assigned. </li><li>Promote good public relations for the School Corporation and community. </li></ul> <p>Special Considerations: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
