<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Ledyard Public Schools is seeking a full time Elementary School Psychologist beginning in the 2025-2026 school year. This role provides support to parents, staff and students to help students succeed academically, socially and emotionally.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Connecticut School Psychologist certification required (070) </li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of child psychology principles, assessments, methods, behavior modification, etc., and current developments in child psychology </li><li>Experience providing counseling to elementary students </li><li>Demonstrated understanding of special education and Section 504 laws and procedures as well as the PPT process </li><li>Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with students, teachers and parents </li><li>Experience evaluating behavior on the basis of clinical observations, interviews with students, teachers, other school staff and parents, reports of other professionals, review of school records and test results. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Provides individual and small group counseling sessions and social skills instruction </li><li>Collaborates with staff to develop and implement behavior intervention plans </li><li>Interprets findings to teachers to assist them in working effectively and sensitively with their students in order to strengthen academic progress </li><li>Advises and counsels parents in order to facilitate the educational progress of their children </li><li>Collects progress monitoring data to inform goal development for social and emotional instruction </li><li>Recommends strategies, techniques and materials to enhance instructional improvement for all students </li><li>Aids in identification of students at risk, participating in the development of treatment strategies </li><li>Maintains appropriate records of service provision </li><li>Regularly uses technology to assist in accomplishing job responsibilities and meeting school and district goals </li><li>Consults with staff members to improve the classroom environment according to students' individual and group needs </li><li>May conduct diagnostic evaluations to assist in determining eligibility for special education services and 504 accommodations </li><li>Participate in Safety Care </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer or standing </li><li>Must be able to traverse environment and adjust one's tone and height, by bending or leaning </li><li>Position may require physical interaction with students who have difficulty regulating emotions and controlling behavior </li><li>Traveling between three elementary schools </li></ul> <p>Salary and Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>Per the Ledyard Education Association agreement </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer or standing </li><li>Must be able to traverse environment and adjust one's tone and height, by bending or leaning </li><li>Position may require physical interaction with students who have difficulty regulating emotions and controlling behavior </li><li>Traveling between three elementary schools </li></ul> <p>To Apply:</p> <p>Applications will only be accepted online.
