<p>Job Title: Software Engineer</p> <p>Job Location: Sterling Heights, MI</p> <p>Hourly Rate: Up to $58hr depending on experience.</p> <p>Work Schedule: 9/80 work schedule, Off every other Friday!</p> <p>Note: Due to the nature of the work, this role requires being 100% onsite</p> <p>Job Summary:</p> <ul> <li>Come join our team! We currently have an exciting possible Temp-to-Perm opportunity in Sterling Heights, MI for a Software Engineer with 5-7 years of experience designing, configuring, and testing software to work on a Military Vehicle Program. </li></ul> <p>Job Description:</p> <ul> <li>Design, configure, and test software development environment that will be used to create software work products ranging from documentation to code and test artifacts. </li><li>Develop software documentation and code across one or more vehicle domains including board support, dsp, power management, lethality, software deployment and diagnostics. </li><li>Perform software requirements analysis. </li><li>Develop software preliminary and detail design utilizing software design tools as specified by department standards. </li><li>Develop code to implement software design, code development shall conform to department standards and procedures. </li><li>Develop test procedures and perform unit/functional test on the executable software. </li><li>Perform hardware/software integration. </li><li>Debug software issues discovered throughout multiple testing phases. </li><li>Provide overall status on development task to respective software project leads. </li><li>Create software releases that turn individual changes from multiple developers into overall integrated products for a single CSCI. </li><li>Interface with other departments and business units, including Systems Engineering, Project Management, and Software Quality. </li><li>Perform agile scrum ceremonies such as daily scrum meetings and demonstrations </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineer, Electrical Engineering or related discipline is required. </li></ul> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>5-7+ years' experience in a related role. </li><li>Experience with tools/languages such as GIT, Bitbucket, Ada, C, C++, Qt, Yocto, Workbench </li><li>Experience working with mixed Operating System environments VxWorks, Linux, RTOS, Virtualization, BSPs, GVOS, etc. </li><li>Experience with serial and network protocols such as RS-232/422, CAN, TCP/IP, UDP/IP, etc. </li><li>Experience with one or more Linux system image build tools such as Yocto. </li><li>Demonstrated problem solving skills, learning capabilities, and multitasking capabilities. </li><li>Experience with GCIA, MOSA, SOSA, FACE. </li><li>Experience with the use of Agile processes and tools. </li><li>This position may require the candidate to be able to climb on/off, work in, and work around military vehicles is desired. Must be able to pass ASR test (Anthropometric Size Requirement for confined space) - (Must be shorter than 6' 4" and weigh less than 260lbs). </li><li>Familiarity with the four areas of cyber; authentication, nonrepudiation, confidentiality, and integrity, as implemented through digital signatures and encryption. </li><li>Enable embedded system security using cryptography and secure architectures. </li><li>Be a self-starter and working in a fast-paced environment. </li><li>The candidate will need to have strong written and oral communication skills and be able to work with all levels of the organization and across functions. </li><li>Organization will be essential due to the volume of tasks and projects and being able to align with tight deadlines and lead times. </li><li>Work environment will consist of prototype shop, laboratory, manufacturing, and office. </li><li>Able to work overtime when required. </li><li>Able to bring continuous improvement processes and methodologies to the position. </li><li>Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are required. </li><li>Works well in a team and individually. </li><li>Candidate must have excellent communication skills. </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with Linux device drivers, bootloaders, memory maps or other system programming is a strong plus. </li><li>Experience with Eclipse, GIT, gcc, DOORs, Jira / Bitbucket / Confluence, gdb, or QT is a plus. </li><li>Experience with type I & II hypervisors is a plus. </li><li>Familiarity with security features such as SELinux, verified boot and trusted execution environments is a plus. </li><li>Previous experience working on ground combat Vehicles is a plus. </li><li>Experience with ground combat vehicle network architecture designs is a plus. </li></ul> <p>Note:</p> <ul> <li>Must be U.S. Citizen - "Must be able to meet ITAR requirements, including US citizenship to be considered for this role." </li></ul> <p>After you have applied, download our Staffmark Group WorkNOW App to receive real-time job offers and apply for additional opportunities.
