As a key member of the university's academic leadership team, your proven ability to provide strategic, operational and tactical oversight for a holistic and well-integrated approach will promote a culture of student success and engagement across the university.</p> <p>What We Offer:</p> <p>RMU offers a competitive benefits package that prioritizes your mental and physical health, financial stability, family obligations, and professional growth.</p> <ul> <li>Full comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans </li><li>Basic and voluntary life insurance </li><li>Short and long-term disability </li><li>Employee Assistance Program (EAP) </li><li>401(K) retirement plans with employer contributions </li><li>Financial wellness program </li><li>Generous paid time off (PTO) accrual and holiday pay </li><li>An onsite fitness center with 24/7 badge access </li><li>Education assistance program </li></ul> <p>Core Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Serve on University councils and participate in key meetings with faculty, administrators, and others as needed and delegated. </li><li>Ensure appropriate and timely response to the Office of Civil Rights and Institutional Equity and Human Resources actions related to reported and filed employee and student claims and possible issues and keep the President appropriately informed without bias. </li><li>Maintains current and appropriate training on Civil Rights and Title IX standards, protocols, and policies pertaining to the role of liaison between the Office of the President and the Office of Civil Rights and Intuitional Equity. </li><li>Oversee student retention efforts and reporting in collaboration with other University Departments. </li><li>Assist with setting and stewarding University and department-specific policies and procedures. </li><li>Handle and direct special projects, events, and other duties the Provost and President assign. </li><li>Provide leadership and strategic direction to the Student Affairs department, ensuring that the department supports the overall mission and goals of the University. </li><li>Work in partnership with Academic Affairs to promote student success and engagement across the University. </li><li>Develop and implement programs and services that enhance student success, including academic support, counseling services, student engagement, and wellness initiatives. </li><li>Manage and deploy a Student Affairs emergency response plan in coordination with the University's emergency response plan that ensures the safety of residential and post-professional students in times of crisis, natural disaster, or other threats. </li><li>Collaborate with academic departments to promote student retention and graduation and to support student academic success. </li><li>Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations related to Student Affairs, including </li><li>Title IX, FERPA, and other federal and state laws. </li><li>Supervise the departmental budget and oversee all resource allocations to effectively meet departmental and University goals. </li><li>Foster a culture of inclusion and diversity and ensure that all students feel welcome, safe, and supported at the University. </li><li>Ensure ADA academic accommodation is provided to students who qualify in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. </li><li>Ensure compliance with civil rights laws and regulations, including Title IX and other anti-discrimination statutes. </li></ul> <p>Background/Expertise:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in student Affairs or related discipline, higher education, counseling, or related field required; doctoral degree preferred. </li><li>Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in student affairs, preferably in a healthcare or health sciences education setting. </li><li>Extensive knowledge of operations related to higher education and Student Affairs. </li><li>Demonstrated awareness and commitment to the use of technology in the delivery of programs and maintenance of institutional data. </li><li>Ability to prioritize needs, provide escalation management, and maintain confidential and sensitive information. </li><li>Ability to work with and effectively manage a diverse workforce. </li><li>Strong commitment to excellence in academics. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret, and present data. </li><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to organize and present findings effectively </li><li>Demonstrated technical expertise and best practices across a variety of systems, including the Microsoft Office Suite, databases, project management, etc. </li><li>Exceptional organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. </li><li>Successful history of developing relationships with cross-functional teams while interacting positively with executive management. </li><li>Proven business acuity with the ability to make sound decisions under critical timelines. </li><li>Demonstrated experience in program development, budget management, and staff supervision. </li><li>Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to student affairs, including Title IX, FERPA, and the Clery Act. </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of stakeholders. </li></ul> <p>RMU is an equal opportunity employer.
