This position is ideal for a candidate with strong string pedagogy, instrumental conducting expertise, and a commitment to cultivating a thriving instrumental music program. The ideal candidate will bring a student-centered approach, build strong relationships, and be eager to engage, inspire, and grow young musicians.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Teach and lead both middle school band and orchestra ensembles, including sectional work, full ensemble rehearsals, and public performances. </li><li>Plan and implement a comprehensive instrumental music curriculum aligned with state and national standards. </li><li>Select and program developmentally appropriate, diverse, and engaging repertoire for both band and orchestra ensembles. </li><li>Provide instruction on a variety of instruments, with a focus on string techniques and ensemble development. </li><li>Conduct performances and prepare students for concerts, festivals, and other school and community events. </li><li>Foster an inclusive, supportive, and engaging classroom environment where students of all backgrounds feel valued and motivated. </li><li>Build strong, positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues. </li><li>Collaborate with other music educators and staff to support interdisciplinary learning and vertical articulation across grade levels. </li><li>Lead recruitment and retention efforts to grow the instrumental music program </li></ul>
