It also creates new technologies that fuel further business opportunities for The Heritage Group.</p> <p>The laboratory intern will be responsible for assisting research and mixture designs related to asphalt mixtures and binders at the Heritage Research Group.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>You will gain experience in several areas, including but not limited to: </li><li>Following all safety protocols and fostering a safety-focused culture </li><li>Executing industry-standard testing and quality control procedures </li><li>Accurately recording and organizing information </li><li>Understanding and applying data-driven experimental designs </li><li>Communicating effectively with team members and associated companies </li><li>Collecting and analyzing samples from various locations </li><li>Evaluating test results and implementing corrective actions as needed </li><li>Identifying opportunities for improvement in safety, quality, and efficiency </li><li>Assisting in the maintenance and calibration of laboratory and field equipment </li><li>Maintaining good laboratory housekeeping practices </li><li>Working effectively in a team environment </li><li>Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company's core values, competencies, and skills. </li><li></li></ul> <p>Education Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Required High School or Equivalent </li><li>Current undergraduate student majoring in civil engineering, chemistry, chemical engineering, construction management, material sciences, mechanical engineering, or other related fields. </li></ul> <p>Experience Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Preferred 1+ years Laboratory experience. </li></ul> <p>Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Relevant experience or education in laboratory work </li><li>Strong attention to detail with high standards and integrity </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions/Physical Demands</p> <ul> <li>Work is primarily performed in a lab setting, with occasional tasks in the field. </li><li>Must adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as lab coats, gloves, and safety goggles. </li><li>Mobility: Frequent standing, walking, and moving around the lab. Occasional bending, stooping, and reaching. </li><li>Manual Dexterity: Proficiency in handling small tools and laboratory equipment. </li><li>Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating with team members. </li><li>Able to work in a dusty environment, sometimes including the need for PPE (provided). </li><li>Able to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion. </li></ul> <p>Internships at The Heritage Group</p> <p>The Heritage Group Internship Program provides hands-on, paid experiences in a corporate function or within one of our many operating companies.
