Handles the accumulation, distribution and disposal of all facility hazardous waste.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Operates and maintains the following process equipment: equalization tank with float controls, diaphragm distribution pumps, ferric sulfide addition mixing tank, sodium hydroxide addition mix tank, pH sensors, diaphragm chemical metering pumps, peristaltic chemical transfer pump, flow sensor, mixers, air regulator controls, transfer piping and hose, microfiltration membrane waste water systems and automated sludge collection bridge, sludge dewatering and holding tank with mixer, diaphragm transfer pump, sludge press filter dewatering tank with mixer and portable pH meters and buffer solutions. </li><li>Daily inspections of all hazardous waste satellite accumulation points and transfers, under state and federal regulations. </li><li>Performs all required preventative maintenance and cleaning of equipment in the wastewater system. </li><li>Daily/weekly distribution of virgin chemicals. </li><li>Arranging Haz waste shipments as needed to ensure compliance. </li><li>Proper completion of all required paperwork, i.e. labeling of drums, hazardous waste log, manifest sheets, inspection reports. </li><li>Takes pH readings with portable meter to check accuracy of on-line pH sensors and transmitters. Takes readings of clarifier effluent and final sewage effluent to town treatment plant at our manhole in the street. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>U.S. Persons </li><li>High Schoold Diploma or equivalent required </li><li>Massachusetts Grade 4 Industrial Wastewater License Required, RCRA certification required, DOT/IATA certification required </li><li>Three or more years' industrial wastewater experience required </li></ul> <p>The salary range for this position is $28.30 - $37.98 per hour and represents the minimum and maximum for the position. The actual range will vary based upon factors including but not limited to: prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position's qualifications and internal equity.</p> <p>The posted salary range reflects just one component of our total rewards package.
