<p>Job Description:</p> <p>The Catering Service Attendant prepares and serves food at scheduled functions under the supervision of the Catering Manager. This position is primarily responsible for set up, service, break down and clean up of multiple functions or areas on campus.</p> <p>General Standards</p> <ul> <li>Interact professionally with other employees, customers, and suppliers. </li><li>Perform quality work within deadlines, with or without direct supervision. </li><li>Work effectively as a team leader on all assignments. </li><li>Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations. </li></ul> <p>Sanitation</p> <ul> <li>Maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils within work area. </li></ul> <p>Set up and Preparation</p> <ul> <li>Ensure that all necessary food items have identifiers or menus, displayed in a clean and consistent manner. </li><li>Set up buffet tables as well as food, beverage, and service items according to pre-established Great Expectations Catering standards. </li><li>Handle food items appropriately during preparation. </li></ul> <p>Housekeeping Service</p> <ul> <li>Clean tables and chairs before, during, and after meal service, as assigned. </li><li>Clean workstation thoroughly before leaving the area for other assignments. </li><li>Keep display equipment, buffets, and tables clean and free of debris during meal service, as assigned. </li><li>Break down events by cleaning and packing unused food dishes, utensils. and equipment for safe removal to appropriate locations. </li><li>Handle trash and waste properly per unit standards. </li></ul> <p>Customer Service</p> <ul> <li>Greet customers courteously, and interact with customers in a manner to ensure customer satisfaction. </li><li>Interact with customers and resolve customer complaints in a friendly and service oriented manner. Relay relevant comments from customers directly to supervisors. </li><li>Represent the University in a courteous, efficient, and friendly manner in all customer and employee interactions. </li><li>Serve customer food and beverage orders quickly, in proper portions, and in a courteous demeanor. </li></ul> <p>Food Preparation</p> <ul> <li>Handles foods items appropriately during preparation. </li></ul> <p>Compliance</p> <ul> <li>Ensure proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of proper serving temperatures according to HACCP standards. </li><li>Utilize all Personal Protective Equipment per dining guidelines, including but not limited to wearing a cut resistance glove whenever using a sharp or potentially sharp tool or instrument. </li></ul> <p>Menu and Catering</p> <ul> <li>Assemble and deliver all food and supplies for catered functions to the scheduled locations. </li><li>Demonstrate a complete understanding of menu items and explain same to customers accurately. </li><li>Consistently exhibit the ability to keep up with catering delivery schedules and does so calmly, accurately, and efficiently. </li></ul> <p>This is a part-time (25 hours) Dining Union position.</p> <p>$250 signing bonus after a 4-month satisfactory probationary period is completed.</p> <p>Generous paid holidays, vacation, and sick time, free gym membership, free meals during working hours, free uniforms, free parking, paid employee referral program and 403(b)</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
