<p>Kforce has a client is seeking to hire a Senior Collections Specialist in Saint Louis, Missouri (MO). This role is a remote position, except for occasional onsite days.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>The Senior Collections Specialist provides quality internal and external customer service surrounding the company values </li><li>Independently prioritize and execute daily collection activities; Contact customers for payment via telephone and email, document and maintain timely collection notes in the collection tool and establish appropriate follow-up </li><li>Perform root cause analysis to resolve customer disputes, billing issues, deductions and propose process enhancements to avoid future issues </li><li>Contact delinquent customers by phone and email </li><li>Prepare customer account reconciliations </li><li>Evaluate customer payment trends and recommend accounts for escalated collection efforts </li><li>The Senior Collections Specialist will negotiate terms for settlements and payment plans with delinquent customers for management approval </li><li>Other duties as assigned* Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance preferred or equivalent experience </li><li>3-5 years of collections experience in a high-volume service industry environment </li><li>Proficient in use of financial, accounting, and collection systems </li><li>Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing across all levels of the organization </li><li>Establish and maintain effective, cooperative, and collaborative working relationships with colleagues, customers, and cross-functional teams </li><li>Excellent time-management, organization, prioritization, and problem-solving skills </li><li>Detail oriented with high degree of accuracy </li><li>Customer service focused and portrays energy, professionalism, and welcoming characteristics </li><li>Strong ability to work in a highly sensitive and confidential environment </li><li>Ability to meet deadlines and handle sensitive and pressured situations </li><li>Ability to identify issues and help develop strategy and tactical plans for various department initiatives </li><li>Ability to use good judgment and decision-making skills </li><li>Ability to use a PC, keyboard, and other standard office equipment </li><li>Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously </li><li>Ability to work both independently and with others </li><li>Ability to operate in a fast moving, team-oriented, collaborative environment with tight deadlines </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Prior experience particularly in the data center industry </li><li>Basic understanding of financial statements, customer contracts and collection processes </li><li>Experience creating Excel formulas (including vlookups) and pivot tables </li></ul>
