Performs tests, diagnoses patients, provides treatment plans and options, and works with patients' physicians and surgeons to treat cardiovascular issues. Functions in both outpatient and inpatient settings.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</p> <ul> <li>Provides supervision to patients undergoing cardiac evaluation as per guidelines and in accordance with licensure, credentialing, and privileging as a member of the medical staff of SSMC </li><li>Ensures all services adhere to credentialing and privileging policy of SSMC </li><li>Involves the patient and, when appropriate, the patient's family members to explain diagnoses, plan of care, possible outcomes and any other information that should be shared with the patient family </li><li>Adheres to documentation standards and policies </li><li>Ensures the integrity of clinical care standards </li><li>Monitors, evaluates and acts to improve the quality of medical care </li><li>Participates in initiatives that encourage the sharing of best practices, incorporates data feedback for objective analysis and promotes collaborative improvements </li><li>Maintains awareness of developments in the care and treatment of cardiology patients through continuing medical education </li><li>Provides input into patient care rendered by other disciplines outside the department, assuring adherence to acceptable medical care standards </li><li>Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow colleagues to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment </li><li>Maintains certification in the specialty of cardiology </li></ul> <p>JOB REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>Minimum Education</p> <p>Medical Doctor Degree; residency program</p> <p>Minimum Work Experience</p> <p>Meets requirements of South Shore Health medical staff bylaws.</p> <p>Credentialed by SSH medical staff.</p> <p>License/Certifications:</p> <p>MD or DO with the successful completion of a residency and licensed in Massachusetts</p> <p>Certified by the appropriate Board of their residency/fellowship training</p> <p>ACLS certification.</p> <p>per diem/call coverage</p> <p>Responsibilities if Required:</p> <p>Education if Required:</p> <p>License/Registration/Certification Requirements:</p> <p>Physician/Hospitalist - Board of Registration in Medicine (Massachusetts)</p>
