<p>Medical Director, Women's Services</p> <p>AdventHealth Mid-America Region - Kansas City Area</p> <p>AdventHealth is seeking an experienced and visionary physician leader to serve as Medical Director of Women's Services for the Mid-America Region. This individual will lead the strategic development and clinical integration of a comprehensive women's health program, advancing AdventHealth's vision to become the destination for women's care across the region.</p> <p>This is a unique opportunity to shape and grow a fully integrated continuum of women's services-expanding access, enhancing quality, and elevating the patient experience for women and families. The Medical Director will play a pivotal role in strengthening system alignment, developing centers of excellence, and building a differentiated women's health brand. <strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>____</strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></p> <p>Role Overview</p> <p>The Medical Director will:</p> <p>Lead the strategic growth and performance of women's services across the Mid-America Region, including multiple hospitals and ambulatory sites.</p> <p>Partner in a dyad leadership model with the administrative service line leader to drive clinical quality, patient safety, physician engagement, and operational excellence.</p> <p>Develop and implement a destination women's health program, including clinical integration, care standardization, and accreditation readiness.</p> <p>Strengthen referral networks and expand access to care, particularly in underserved and maternal desert communities.</p> <p>Oversee evidence-based protocols and initiatives that improve outcomes and elevate the patient experience across the continuum of care.</p> <p>Foster physician alignment and multidisciplinary collaboration across all sites within the region.</p> <p>Dedicate approximately 20% of time to leadership responsibilities while maintaining an active clinical practice. <strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>____</strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></p> <p>Candidate Profile</p> <p>Skills & Qualities:</p> <p>Visionary, collaborative, and mission-driven physician leader</p> <p>Proven ability to mentor teams and foster multidisciplinary collaboration</p> <p>Strong communication, relationship-building, and strategic planning skills</p> <p>Ability to translate strategy into measurable goals and operational plans</p> <p>Experience developing integrated clinical programs and networks</p> <p>Knowledge of regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards</p> <p>Demonstrated success in improving clinical outcomes and patient experience</p> <p>Experience & Credentials:</p> <p>MD or DO from an accredited medical school</p> <p>Board certified in a women's health specialty</p> <p>Demonstrated leadership experience in women's services or related clinical programs</p> <p>Proven track record advancing clinical excellence and program growth</p> <p>Already existing or ability to obtain Kansas physician licensure</p> <p>Hospital Description</p> <p>AdventHealth Shawnee Mission, located in Merriam, Kansas, is a 504-bed acute care hospital serving the Kansas City metro area, particularly Johnson County. Formerly Shawnee Mission Medical Center, it joined the AdventHealth network in 2002, guided by a mission to provide faith-based, whole-person care that nurtures physical, emotional, and spiritual health. Established in 1962, the hospital has deep roots in the community, originating from a collaboration between local leaders, the Johnson County Medical Society, and the New Haven Seventh-day Adventist Church to meet the area's growing healthcare needs.</p> <p>The hospital offers comprehensive services, including emergency care, cancer treatment, cardiology, neurology, maternity, bariatric surgery, and behavioral health, supported by over 700 physicians across 50 specialties and more than 3,300 employees. Its state-of-the-art AdventHealth Cancer Institute, accredited by the Commission on Cancer, provides advanced treatments like MRI-guided radiation therapy, doubling patient capacity with a new $76.5 million facility opened in 2024. The B.E. The Kansas City area is home to great professional and college sports teams and is the host of the FIFA World Cup in 2026.
