<p>Overview</p> <p>Medical Technologist, General Laboratory</p> <p>$5,000 Sign-on Bonus for Experienced MTs</p> <p>$2,000 Sign-on Bonus for New Grad MTs</p> <p>Full Time, 72 Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shift</p> <p>3 days a week, 6a-630p, rotating weekends & holidays, and the occasional nightshift to cover for vacations.</p> <p>Fort Loudoun Medical Center is equipped with a team of more than 200 doctors in more than 29 specialty areas. Our 87,000-square-foot hospital features advanced technology, including state-of-the-art Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computerized Tomography (CT), Ultrasound, Diagnostic X-Rays and Women's Imaging Services, as well as Nuclear Medicine technology unique to our surrounding counties. The physicians, staff and volunteers of Fort Loudoun Medical Center are dedicated to providing excellent care to every patient, every time.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The MT performs routine and specialized clinical lab tests for use in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by physicians. Uses judgement from educational background to give the physician information to diagnose and treat illnesses. We are looking for MT/MLS/MLT candidate who thrives in a fast-paced work environment. The applicant must be organized, detailed oriented, and dedicated to excellent patient care. Candidate must be able to work all departments: Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Serology, Blood Bank, and Micro set-up.</p> <p>Recruiter: Brittany Smithson || bpartell@covhlth.com || 865-374-5363</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Reads and interprets tests and performs appropriate testing. </li><li>Prepares sterile media for use in growing bacterial cultures; reads cultures. </li><li>Analyzes blood, body fluids and parasites. </li><li>Maintains required records, reports and statistics as directed. </li><li>Performs quality control and media processing. </li><li>Educates others as necessary. </li><li>Performs equipment maintenance as needed. </li><li>Demonstrates competency in scope of care provided for all age groups (ranging from newborn through geriatric), therapeutic needs, and diagnostic groups in any mode of contact warranted for clinical lab services. </li><li>Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum Education:</p> <p>None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.</p> <p>Minimum Experience:</p> <p>Six (6) months experience.</p> <p>Licensure Requirement:</p> <p>Must have and maintain Tennessee State medical technologist licensure. ASCP preferred.</p>
