Augmentative and alternative communication experience is needed.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Master's Degree in SpeechLanguage Pathology</p> <p>Certificate of Clinical Competence from American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA)</p> <p>Massachusetts state license as Speech Language Pathologist</p> <p>Massachusetts Department of Education Teacher certification as a Teacher of Students with Speech, Language and Hearing Disorders</p> <p>Exceptions to the above qualifications shall be made as the</p> <p>Superintendent deems appropriate and acceptable.</p> <p>PURPOSE: Identify and provide treatment for students with speech, language and/or</p> <p>hearing disorders</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Building Principal and/or Director of Special Education</p> <p>PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITY:</p> <ol> <li>Provide speech and language therapy services to students with communication disabilities </li></ol> <p>or delays that include but are not limited to expressive language, receptive language,</p> <p>social communication, articulation, oralmotor, apraxia, voice, and fluency</p> <ol start="2"> <li>Conduct speech and language screenings and evaluations in order to diagnose </li></ol> <p>communication disorders and delays including but not limited to; expressive language,</p> <p>receptive language, social communication, articulation, oralmotor, apraxia, voice, and</p> <p>fluency, as well as to students requiring augmentative communication devices</p> <ol start="3"> <li>Consult with outside medical providers such as neurologists, audiologists and </li></ol> <p>otolaryngologist as needed</p> <ol start="4"> <li>Provide intervention services and/or consultation through a Response to Intervention </li></ol> <p>Services/Prevention model</p> <ol start="5"> <li>Provide direct services and consultation as indicated on the student's Individualized </li></ol> <p>Education Program</p> <ol start="6"> <li>Provide consultation services to classroom teachers, administrators and other specialists </li></ol> <p>to improve management of services to student with special education needs</p> <ol start="7"> <li>Provide information to parents and guardians of students regarding typical speech and </li></ol> <p>language development</p> <ol start="8"> <li>Collect data and analyzes student progress in order to determine eligibility, develop </li></ol> <p>student goals and objectives and report progress</p> <ol start="9"> <li>Maintain compliance of regulations of Individualized Education Program development, </li></ol> <p>team meetings, Medicaid billing, report writing and progress reports</p> <ol start="10"> <li> <p>Serve as case manager for designated students on Individualized Education Programs</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with the management of communication and amplification devices</p> </li><li> <p>Provide culturally competent services in accordance with ASHA guidelines</p> </li></ol> <p>and regulations</p> <ol start="13"> <li>Supervise SpeechLanguage Pathology Assistants (SLPA) as required by ASHA and licensure </li></ol> <p>14.Perform other responsibilities as deemed appropriate and assigned by a supervisor</p> <p>and/or designee</p> <p>EXPERIENCE:</p> <p>Safety Care trained, preferred</p> <p>1-2 years working in a school setting</p> <p>Training in Lindamood Bell</p> <p>ELL and SEL training preferred</p> <p>Spanish speaking preferred</p> <p>Applications will be considered when submitted via our online application system with POWERSCHOOL UNIFIED TALENT.
