<p>Teacher Assistant II - ECSE</p> <p>Job Status: UNTIL FILLED Posting Date: 12/11/2025 Posting Number: 013314 Location: Anderson Position Title: Teacher Assistant II - ECSE Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt Reports To: Principal</p> <p>Primary Purpose:</p> <p>To provide a well-organized smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials.</p> <p>Qualifications: Education/Certification:</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma </li><li>Obtain Paraprofessional certificate </li></ul> <p>Special Knowledge/Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to work well with children and adolescents </li><li>Knowledge of computers and general office equipment </li></ul> <p>Experience: Major Responsibilities and Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Assists the teacher in classroom instructional activities and computer software. </li><li>Monitors student behavior and reports problems and related circumstances to teacher. </li><li>Assists teacher with implementation of behavior management systems. </li><li>Assists pupils in need of special attention including health, hygiene and feeding as appropriate. </li><li>Prepares instructional materials under teacher direction. </li><li>Assists in administration of teacher made tests. </li><li>Checks, marks, and corrects pupils work according to specific teacher instruction. </li><li>Performs clerical and ARD-related duties as needed: </li><li>Assists with supervision of students during field trips and other special activities, lunch, recess, restroom breaks, and bus related times. </li><li>Works with special education students in the regular classroom as required by IEP's. </li><li>Supervises children in regular classroom while teacher attends ARD meeting. </li><li>Maintains confidentiality regarding students and their records at all times. </li><li>Provides physical restraint as per AISD policy using approved crisis intervention methods. </li><li>Maintains emotional control and models effective coping skills, e.g. calm, low voice, neutral facial expression, non-challenging and non-argumentative interactions with students, polite precise requests and quiet requests to teacher for assistance if problems are noted. </li><li>Attends training as required. </li><li>Performs other duties as the superintendent may assign. </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities:</p> <p>None.</p> <p>Customer Care Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Provide professional communication with students, parents, community members, staff and other professionals at all times. </li><li>Use proper phone etiquette at all times, speaking slowly and clearly. Take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff. </li><li>Ensure superior customer care skills are used via eye contact, facial expressions, voice inflections, body language, and an attitude of "going the extra mile" for others. </li><li>Ensure all requests for information are dealt with in an appropriate timeframe. </li><li>Create and maintain a welcoming, service-oriented environment toward all internal and external customers. </li></ul> <p>Mental Demands/Physical Demands:</p> <p>Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals.</p> <p>Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting.</p> <p>Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching.</p> <p>Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)</p> <p>Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent districtwide travel; occasional statewide travel and out-of-state travel</p> <p>Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress.</p> <p>Salary: Pay Grade IS02,$16.85-$19.90 hourly rate commensurate with experience according to District salary schedule.</p> <p>Days: 187</p>
