<p>Under general supervision, this position instructs patrons in specified adult group fitness classes (i.e., water aerobics, Zumba, Land Aerobics, etc).</p> <ul> <li>This position reports to the Recreation Programs Supervisor in charge of the program assignment.   </li><li>Instructors do not exercise supervision over other positions. </li></ul> <p>The following functions & duties are typical for this position.  Incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address City needs and changing business practices. </p> <p>Instruct patrons in specialized recreational group fitness classes (i.e., water aerobics).</p> <p>Interact with patrons with a professional manner. </p> <p>Perform other related job duties as assigned.Knowledge of: </p> <ul> <li>Area of instruction </li></ul> <p>Ability to: </p> <ul> <li>Effectively teach. </li><li>Follow oral and written instructions. </li><li>Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the public. </li><li>Possess physical conditioning required to perform duties as an instructor in the specialized recreational activity. All instructor positions require the ability to effectively lead citizens in a comprehensive workout in the appropriate category. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Age Requirement:</p> <ul> <li>Must be 15 years of age or older. </li></ul> <p>License/Certification:</p> <ul> <li>Current CPR and First Aid certifications. </li><li>Certification(s) in the area specialization ( Zumba, Group Cycling, Pump 'N Flex, Water Aerobics, etc.). </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Any combination of education, training, and experience that would provide necessary instruction skills and expertise in area of instruction </li></ul> <p> </p> <p>Essential duties require the following physical skills and work environment:</p> <p>Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, crouch, twist, and grasp; work with hands above shoulder height with up to 40 lbs.; work with arms extended at shoulder height with up to 20 lbs.; lift or carry 50 lbs. or less and push and/or pull heavy weights (over 75 lbs) on a regular basis; and exposure to hot, cold, and outdoors.</p> <p> </p> <p>Applicants who are offered employment are required to pass a comprehensive background investigation, job-related physical exam, drug screening test and driver license check.</p> <p>The City of Green River is an EEO/ADA employer and a smoke-free workplace per City ordinance.</p>
