<p>Job Description:</p> <p>The Northwest R-I School District seeks an enthusiastic and student- centered individual to fill this position for the remainder of the 2025-26 school year. The successful candidate will be part of a high-energy and enthusiastic team of professionals, dedicated to meeting the academic, social and emotional needs of students.</p> <p>This is a full-time certified position, with benefits, including:</p> <ul> <li>Medical, dental and vision insurance </li><li>Inclusion in the PSRS retirement system - District matched retirement contribution of 14.5% </li><li>Employee Assistance Program (EAP) </li></ul> <p>Salary is based on the Certified Salary Schedule, dependent on relevant education & experience. Per our Board Policy.</p> <p>$3,500 stipend to Special Education teachers who are fully certified, teach full-time and who are case managers.</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY:</p> <p>Teachers are directly responsible to Mary Smith in the Student Services Department or designee for classroom instruction and supervision of students. The teachers' main responsibility is to lead students toward the fulfillment of their potential for intellectual, physical, social and career development.</p> <ul> <li>Manage and maintain confidentiality of information about students on caseload. </li><li>Collaborate with all stakeholders to develop and implement appropriate Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students. </li><li>Act as special education case manager for students on caseload. </li><li>Observe students for signs of disruptive or inappropriate behavior, analyze behaviors, and develop appropriate plans for positive behavior change. </li><li>Implement appropriate instructional techniques to achieve IEP and curriculum goals. </li><li>Collaborate with parents and professionals from within and outside the school to promote the educational and social development of students. </li><li>Create an environment conducive to student learning and appropriate to the interests and needs of students. </li><li>Guide students in the learning process toward achievement of IEP and curriculum goals and establish clear short-term objectives or benchmarks for student projects, activities, and assignments. </li><li>Maintain ongoing two-way communication with parents, students, school administration, and fellow professionals within and outside of the school regarding student performance and progress. </li><li>Adequately prepare for student instruction. </li><li>Complete all necessary paperwork for the school and for students. </li><li>Supervise and support paraprofessionals assigned to students or the classroom. </li><li>Assist in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policies. </li><li>Attend and participate in faculty meetings, professional development activities, workshops, grade-level and departmental meetings, and other activities to promote professional growth. </li><li>Provide assistance and support to students and the school in transportation-related issues. </li><li>Perform school duties as assigned by administration. </li><li>Other tasks as assigned by administrative personnel. </li></ul> <p>You are navigating off of REAP site to the district's posting.</p> <p>OK</p>
