<p>CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time, Exempt, 12-month</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Director of Athletics</p> <p>DEPT: Athletics</p> <p>LOCATION: Cornerstone University Hansen Athletic Center</p> <p>SUMMARY:</p> <p>The Sports Information Director (SID) is responsible for promoting and publicizing Cornerstones athletic programs, student-athletes, and coaches. This role involves managing all aspects of sports information, including media relations, statistics, game-day operations, and digital content creation. The SID plays a key role in shaping the public image of the athletics department and enhancing the visibility of the colleges sports teams.</p> <p>SALARY: $39,000/year</p> <p>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>Other duties may be assigned.</p> <p>Media & Public Relations</p> <ul> <li> <p>Serve as the primary media contact for all athletic programs.</p> </li><li> <p>Write and distribute press releases, game recaps, and feature stories.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate interviews and media coverage with local and regional outlets.</p> </li></ul> <p>Game Day Operations</p> <ul> <li> <p>Manage press box and scorers table operations for home events.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee live stats, scorekeeping, and public address announcements.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate live streaming and video production for home games.</p> </li></ul> <p>Digital & Social Media</p> <ul> <li> <p>Maintain and update the athletics website with schedules, rosters, results, and news.</p> </li><li> <p>Create engaging content for social media platforms (graphics, videos, highlights).</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and execute digital campaigns to promote teams and events.</p> </li></ul> <p>Statistics & Records</p> <ul> <li> <p>Compile and maintain accurate statistics for all sports following NAIA regulations.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain historical records and archives for all athletic programs.</p> </li><li> <p>Submit required reports and nominations for conference and national awards.</p> </li></ul> <p>Collaboration & Leadership</p> <ul> <li> <p>Work closely with coaches, athletic trainers, and administrators.</p> </li><li> <p>Supervise student workers, interns, and volunteers.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with special events, including banquets, Hall of Fame inductions, and fundraising initiatives.</p> </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelors degree in communications, journalism, sports management, or related field.</p> </li><li> <p>13 years of experience in sports information, media relations, or athletic communications (college-level preferred).</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, StatCrew, and website CMS platforms.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.</p> </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED SKILLS:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Experience with live streaming platforms and video editing software.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of social media analytics and digital marketing strategies.</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with collegiate athletic associations and compliance standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated proficiency in statistical software such as StatCrew, Presto, or Genius.</p> </li><li> <p>Proven capacity for self-motivation to meet deadlines and to thrive in high-pressure environments.</p> </li></ul> <p>ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and an active Christian commitment. </li><li>A theology that supports the values and mission of Cornerstone University core commitments evidenced by an ability to affirm and sign the universitys doctrinal statement, The Cornerstone Confession. </li><li>Four other foundational pillars, along with the universitys mission and confession, form Cornerstones Core Commitments. </li><li>The Cornerstone Christian World View </li><li>The Cornerstone Academic Vision </li><li>The Cornerstone Beautiful Christian Community </li><li>The Marriage and Human Sexuality Position Statement </li></ul> <p>These core commitments convey who we are, what we believe and how we live and work together in community.
