<p>Drury High School is an innovative Early College designated institution committed to transforming the high school experience. Our mission is to cultivate a dynamic learning environment that encourages students to embrace change, explore their academic interests through Project Based Learning (PBL), and prepare for success in college and beyond.</p> <p>Drury High School is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic World Languages Teacher to join our passionate team and expand our foreign language program. The ideal candidate is fluent in French and is an educator who thinks creatively, is open to embracing and leading change, and is skilled in designing and implementing project-based learning experiences. This role is perfect for a teacher excited to contribute to the transformation of our high school experience, fostering a culture of innovation, curiosity, and in-depth learning. This position is subject to the North Adams Teachers Association contract.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities of 7-12 World Languages French Teacher</p> <ul> <li>Innovative Teaching: Design and deliver engaging foreign language curriculum using non-traditional and project-based learning methods. Incorporate real-world problems to enhance student learning and retention. </li><li>Curriculum Development: Collaborate with colleagues to develop, evaluate, and refine curriculum that aligns with state standards and school goals. Emphasize interdisciplinary connections and the application of knowledge. </li><li>Student Support: Build strong, supportive relationships with students through Drury's Crew advisory program, focusing on their social-emotional development and academic success. Tailor instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Implement strategies to accommodate various learning styles and abilities. Utilize this methodology in your classroom and through offering engaging enrichment and interventions during our Flex block. </li><li>Professional Growth: Actively participate in professional development opportunities, including workshops, seminars, and departmental and interdisciplinary collaborative planning sessions. Implement new strategies and approaches to teaching and learning based on research and best practices. </li><li>Community Engagement: Work with students to produce projects for the End of Semester Showcase, demonstrating their achievements to the school and community. Engage parents and community members in the learning process and celebrate student success. </li><li>Growth Mindset: Foster a classroom environment where students are encouraged to take intellectual risks, embrace challenges, and develop a growth mindset. Believe in the potential of all students to succeed and provide differentiated support to meet their diverse needs. </li><li>Program Expansion: Lead the initiative to expand the foreign language program into early college classes. Collaborate with colleagues to create a seamless transition for students looking to pursue advanced coursework. </li></ul> <p>Job Goal:To develop and implement effective lessons, foster a supportive learning environment, communicate with families, and fulfill all professional responsibilities.</p> <p>Supervision:Reports to the Building Principal</p> <p>Performance Responsibilities:</p> <p>1.Promotes the learning and growth of all students by providing high quality and coherent instruction, designing and administering authentic and meaningful student assessments, analyzing student performance and growth data, using this data to improve instruction, providing students with constructive feedback on an ongoing basis, and continuously refining learning objectives. 2.Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil. 3.Evaluates pupils' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports. 4.Promotes the learning and growth of all students through instructional practices that establish high expectations, create a safe and effective classroom environment, and demonstrate cultural proficiency. 5.Identifies pupil needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing students and providing appropriate academic, social-emotional, and behavioral interventions. 6.Promotes the learning and growth of all students through effective partnerships with families, caregivers, community members, and organizations. 7.Communicates with families through conferences and other means to discuss student progress and helps families understand the school policies, procedures, and expectations. 8.Promotes the learning and growth of all students through ethical, culturally proficient, skilled, and collaborative practice. 9.Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities, faculty meeting time, and collaborative time provided by the school and self-selected professional growth activities. 10.Collaborates with school and district leaders to advise on the selection of instructional resources and maintains an inventory of instructional materials provided. 11.Assists in the administration of standardized tests and cross-district assessments in accordance with the state and district assessment system. 12.Uses technology to fulfill professional responsibilities, including but not limited to the use of online learning platforms, student management systems, email, collaborative documents, spreadsheets, and other instructional tools. 13.Any other duties as may be assigned by the Building Principal.</p> <p>The Committee's policy of nondiscrimination will extend to students, staff, the general public, and individuals with whom it does business; No person shall be excluded from or discriminated against in admission to a public school of any town or in obtaining the advantages, privileges, and courses of study of such public school on account of age, race, color, sex, gender identity, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, disability or homelessness.</p>
