We are BUILT FOR THE WILD.</p> <p>The Sr. Global Quality Engineer for Bags & Luggage will be responsible for managing supplier quality for YETI's manufacturing partners, delivering results in a fast-paced and demanding growth environment. This role involves partnering with YETI's Design Teams, Manufacturing Engineering, and Global Sourcing to ensure manufacturing partners are qualified and capable of producing high-quality bags & luggage. Key activities include managing supplier qualification, ensuring solid manufacturing capability, driving PPAP on new/revised products, facilitating problem-solving and sustaining activities on existing products, auditing supplier processes for quality and conformance, and driving continuous improvement activities related to product and process improvement.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Drive supplier quality by implementing manufacturing processes that ensure high product conformance through sustainable processes and statistical process controls. </li><li>Engage in all aspects of an APQP-based manufacturing and supplier quality program, including PFMEA development, Gage R&R, Control Plans, and Process Validation. </li><li>Gather pre-shipment and warranty data, leverage LEAN tools to establish root cause solutions, and drive continuous improvement. </li><li>Analyze new supplier capability as part of the supplier selection process. </li><li>Work with cross-functional teams to incorporate Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) in major product development projects and product changes, focusing on process controls including PFMEAs, Control Plans, CAPA, Process capability, and Continuous Improvement. </li><li>Partner with YETI's suppliers to funnel required or requested changes through the change management process. </li><li>Drive continuous improvement by creating, maintaining, and implementing quality documentation such as SOPs, SIPs, workflows, standards libraries, manuals, etc. </li><li>Analyze statistical data to determine requirements and establish quality and reliability objectives. </li><li>Conduct regular audits of supplier processes to drive product and process conformance. </li><li>Collaborate enthusiastically to drive a culture of quality, reliability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications and Attributes:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in engineering, textile engineering, industrial design, or equivalent experience is preferred. </li><li>Greater than 8 years of experience in the soft goods industry, preferably bags, packs, or outdoor gear. </li><li>Previous experience within a global full-service supply chain model. </li><li>Hands-on experience and knowledge of traditional quality tools, APQP, DFx, FMEA, DOE, GR&R, and PPAP. </li><li>Effective utilization of statistical methods and statistical analysis tools. </li><li>Knowledge and experience with a broad array of manufacturing methods, materials, and tooling typically used in YETI's soft goods products, including cut and sew, RF welding, injection molding, woven and knit fabrics, nonwovens, laminated textiles, adhesives, metal components, plastic hardware, dyeing, and printing techniques. </li><li>Good vision and measured color perception. </li><li>Ability to solve problems, perform risk analysis, and make quality and timely decisions. </li><li>Ability to work independently while leading and influencing cross-functional teams and being a team player. </li><li>Preferred computer skills: PLM, SharePoint, Tableau, Adobe Illustrator, SolidWorks, or other CAD software. </li></ul> <p>Benefits & Perks:</p> <p>Click here to learn about the benefits and perks we offer at YETI.</p> <p>YETI is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.</p> <p>Our commitment to creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture is at the center of everything we do for our employees.
