<p>We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Carrier Management Specialist to join our centralized Transportation Management team in Novi, MI. This role serves as a critical point of contact for carrier-related functions within our regional network, ensuring reliable and cost-effective transportation solutions across North America. The ideal candidate will be skilled at sourcing and onboarding carrier capacity, cultivating strong partnerships, and leveraging data-driven insights to enhance performance and service delivery.</p> <p>KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li> <p>Serve as the primary liaison for carrier management within an assigned region, providing expert support and guidance to internal teams.</p> </li><li> <p>Build and maintain a dependable carrier network to ensure consistent capacity and competitive pricing.</p> </li><li> <p>Partner with operations to secure commitments, award freight, and align carriers with business requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Facilitate carrier onboarding (OTR and Drayage), including contract administration, insurance compliance, and safety rating monitoring.</p> </li><li> <p>Create and maintain carrier scorecards; track and evaluate performance through KPIs.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor P44 compliance and ensure adherence to reporting requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Encourage carrier participation in sustainability initiatives, including SmartWay.</p> </li><li> <p>Support compliance efforts, including double broker monitoring and prevention.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain and update biannual carrier profiles to ensure accuracy and compliance.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist Carrier Managers (CMs) with operational needs, capacity sourcing, and issue resolution.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide administrative support, including mailroom functions and other miscellaneous tasks as assigned.</p> </li><li> <p>Support special projects and network optimization initiatives, including seasonal or volume-based capacity shifts.</p> </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES)</p> <ul> <li> <p>3 years of experience in carrier relations and capacity procurement; background in temperature-controlled truckload, regional LTL, Drayage, or dedicated providers preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong knowledge of transportation operations and carrier cost drivers.</p> </li><li> <p>Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).</p> </li><li> <p>Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (both written and verbal).</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with contract administration and compliance processes preferred.</p> </li></ul> <p>Why Lineage?</p> <p>This is an excellent position to begin your career path within Lineage!
