<p>Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) Engineer Internship</p> <p>Scot Forge Company is looking to hire an Engineering student with a focus in NDE for an internship in the Summer of 2025 at the corporate facility in Spring Grove, IL. An NDE Engineering internship at Scot Forge will provide a variety of experiences and exposure to the NDE profession. This intern will be supporting the NDE team through hands-on inspections and research project work.</p> <p>This Program Offers:</p> <ul> <li>Paid Compensation </li><li>Professional Career Development and Mentoring </li><li>Real World Problem Solving </li><li>Meaningful Project Work </li><li>Collaborative Work Environment </li><li>Relocation Assistance (if applicable) </li></ul> <p>Anticipated Projects include:</p> <ul> <li>Research to improve consistency in acoustic properties between large forgings and Ultrasonic calibration standards. </li><li>Develop and implement best practices for collaboration between Scot Forge and Robotic UT supplier. </li><li>Design and execute a comprehensive study to determine how surface finish impacts Ultrasonic testing. </li><li>Assist Level 3 NDE's to draft and implement process controls for Immersion UT </li><li>Research study to catalogue shear wave velocities for specialty allows. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Required Skills</p> <ul> <li>Minimum Junior year standing pursuing an undergraduate degree in an engineering discipline with a NDE focus/minor </li><li>Experience using Microsoft Office applications </li><li>Knowledge of reading and interpreting technical drawings or specifications </li><li>Proficiency in SolidWorks (or other 3D modeling software) </li><li>Demonstrated project management skills </li></ul> <p>Preferred Skills</p> <ul> <li>Experience with technical writing </li><li>Application of NDE Methods </li><li>Exposure to programming languages such as python </li><li>Familiarity with Waygate ultrasonic flaw detectors </li></ul> <p>Additional Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Must be authorized to work anywhere in the U.S. without sponsorship </li><li>Must be able to pass a 90 day head hair drug test today. </li></ul> <p>We are proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer: M/F/Disabled/Vets encouraged to apply.</p> <p>We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform pre-employment substance abuse testing</p>
