<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Please submit your resume and cover letter to Patricia Sobraske at psobraske@echn.org</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY</p> <p>New Heights Academy of Manchester serves middle and high school students between the ages of 11 through 22 who present with a range of social-emotional and behavioral difficulties. We are looking for a positive, energetic school social worker to work as a key member of our team and school community. They will conduct individual and group therapy using researched-based interventions. The school social worker also completes comprehensive psychosocial assessments, writes and monitors IEP goals and objectives and is part of the team that conducts FBAs and writes BIPs. In addition, the school social worker provides clinical assessment for students in crisis. Our school social workers also maintain close contact with parents/guardians and share a leadership role in creating a caring, engaging, trauma-informed educational environment. The successful school social worker will possess strong clinical judgment, demonstrate a deep understanding of adolescent development and dynamics, possess excellent communication skills and have an optimistic attitude.</p> <p>EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION</p> <ul> <li>This position requires a Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) </li><li>CT State Department of Education Certification in School Social Work (071) </li><li>LCSW preferred </li></ul> <p>EXPERIENCE</p> <ul> <li>A minimum of two years experience in child/adolescent behavioral health </li><li>In-patient psychiatric or residential treatment experience preferred </li></ul> <p>MISSION STATEMENT</p> <p>The mission of Manchester Clinical Day School is to help prepare students for success and greater independence when returning to public school and/or in their post-secondary lives.
