This role involves managing production teams, coordinating resources, managing production schedules, and driving continuous improvement across all operations by performing the following duties:</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.</p> <ul> <li>Production Oversight: Manage daily production activities, ensuring products are manufactured according to specifications, on time, and within budget. As well as complete special projects as assigned. </li><li>Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and motivate production staff, ensuring a high level of performance, teamwork, and safety awareness. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. </li><li>Scheduling & Planning: Develop and manage detailed production schedules using Microsoft Projects or other project scheduling software. Ensure timely delivery of orders and proactively resolve scheduling conflicts or bottlenecks. Adjust resources and schedules to meet changing demands. </li><li>Heavy Manufacturing Management: Utilize extensive experience in heavy manufacturing environments to oversee and optimize the production of complex, large-scale products. Ensure efficient utilization of materials, labor, and equipment. </li><li>Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize resource utilization. Lead initiatives aimed at increasing throughput and minimizing downtime </li><li>LEAN Practices: Apply LEAN manufacturing principles to streamline production processes, improve flow, reduce waste, and enhance throughput. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational efficiencies while working with Purchasing and Engineering Departments to ensure good work flow </li><li>Resource Management & Cost Control: Maintain efficient use of company resources (materials, labor, and equipment). Track spending on the production floor, identify areas of overspending, and implement strategies to reduce costs without sacrificing quality or productivity. </li><li>Quality Control: Ensure adherence to strict quality standards by implementing effective quality control procedures and conducting regular inspections to meet customer specifications. </li><li>Health & Safety: Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing company safety protocols, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, and continuously improving workplace safety practices. </li><li>Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering Department with design input to improve assembly, quality, and supply chain teams to troubleshoot production issues, solve problems, and ensure smooth operations across all departments. Including assist Sales Department with development of deliver dates & support the Service Department to resolve service issues. </li><li>Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and maintain production reports, including performance metrics, productivity, and any issues affecting production. Provide regular updates to the General Manager. </li><li>Compliance: Ensure all production activities comply with industry regulations, company policies, and environmental standards. </li><li>Review all prints to ensure they are correct and complete. </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities: Manages around fifteen employees in production positions and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.</p> <p>Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>Education and/or Experience: Associate or Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent; or 7+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven experience in production management, particularly in heavy manufacturing environments strongly desired. Progressive and strong experience in leadership roles, developing and holding a team accountable for results. Strong background in production scheduling and resource planning.</p> <p>Language Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.</p> <p>Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.</p> <p>Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.</p> <p>Computer Skills: Working knowledge of ERP Software, MS Office Suite including Microsoft Projects or similar project scheduling software. Salesforce experience a plus.</p> <p>Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Lean Manufacturing training certification strongly desired.</p> <p>Other Qualifications: In-depth understanding of heavy manufacturing processes, quality control standards, and health & safety regulations. Strong knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles and their application to optimize processes and improve throughput. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and drive operational improvements.
