Must be available to work additional hours as needed.</p> <p>Who May Apply?</p> <p>All persons legally authorized to work in the United States</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>The Journeyman Electrician will perform skilled electrical work in construction, installation, repair and maintenance of electrical systems, equipment and fixtures at City facilities and properties.</p> <ul> <li>Perform troubleshooting operations by diagnosing malfunctioning apparatus, replacing and repairing equipment. </li><li>Provide diagnostic services, repair and replacement of valves, pumps, controls, sensors and motors in environmental, electrical, and utility service systems. </li><li>Maintain electrical wiring, switch gears, transformers, distribution and control systems in the City facilities in accordance with Electrical Code and manufacturers standards. </li><li>Maintain emergency generators and associated hardware. </li><li>Maintain security, personnel access and fire warning systems as assigned. </li><li>Install, troubleshoot and repair communication and computer communications systems wiring components in support of City operations. </li><li>Maintain high intensity and emergency lighting systems for buildings, parking lots, recreational facilities, water towers and other structures throughout the City. </li><li>Provide electrical support to other crafts and trades in the installation, troubleshooting and repair of electrical components/subsystems. </li><li>Perform preventative maintenance by periodically inspecting equipment to locate and correct problems prior to a power failure and advising management of condition of hazardous equipment and the need for repair to ensure a safe operation. </li><li>Provide new electrical systems installation by working with blue prints to replace worn out systems, adding wiring, and power outlets to electrical systems in office buildings, marina, parks and other municipal properties. </li><li>May be asked to perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Requires a High School Diploma or GED </li><li>Minimum of four (4) years of related experience </li><li>Journeyman Electrician license required </li><li>Class B CDL required </li><li>Class A CDL preferred </li><li>A valid driver's license is required.
