<p>Employment Type:</p> <p>Part time</p> <p>Shift:</p> <p>Day Shift</p> <p>Description:</p> <p>On the Inpatient General Surgery Unit at Saint Mary's Hospital, the Clerical Coordinator serves by managing administrative tasks, coordinating patient care, and ensuring smooth communication among healthcare providers on the unit</p> <p>What will you do:</p> <ul> <li>Administrative Support: Handle clerical duties such as answering phone calls, managing patient records, and scheduling appointments. Ensure that all patient files are accurate and up-to-date. </li><li>Patient Interaction: Greet patients and visitors, assist with admissions and discharges, and address patient inquiries, directing them to the appropriate healthcare professionals as needed. </li><li>Communication Coordination: Serve as a communication link between patients, nurses, doctors, and other departments, relaying important information and ensuring that all parties are informed. </li><li>Inventory Management: Monitor and order medical supplies as needed, maintaining an organized and well-stocked unit. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Education: High School or equivalency certificate is required. </li><li>Experience: Clerical Coordinator, or Unit Secretary experience in an Acute Inpatient setting is preferred. </li></ul> <p>Position Highlights and Benefits:</p> <p>Part-time: 24 hrs. per week, Day Shift</p> <ul> <li>8-hour shift, 7 a to 3:30 p </li><li>Rotating weekends and holidays are required </li></ul> <p>Ministry/Facility Information</p> <p>Saint Mary's Hospital, operating since 1909, is a Catholic, not-for-profit, community teaching hospital dedicated to serving patients in Waterbury, CT, and the surrounding communities.
