Students receive individualized and small-group instruction and staff supports.</p> <p>Job Purpose:</p> <p>Under the direct supervision of a certified staff member, assists certified professional staff with students in the classroom to meet instructional goals and objectives.</p> <p>Essential Job Functions</p> <ul> <li>Implements lessons and activities with the necessary accommodations and modifications required to meet the individual needs of students in the classroom as directed by the teacher. </li><li>Implements interventions and de-escalation strategies with students who display significant behavioral issues within the school setting. </li><li>Collect and accurately record behavioral, social, academic,and other data as required per student's specific goals and programming. </li><li>Consistently communicates and collaborates with staff to foster student success. </li><li>Assist students with physical or social disabilities with activities of daily living for the purpose of maximizing their ability to participate in school or learning activities. </li><li>Implements positive behavior support plans and collects data on student progress. </li><li>Assists students in non-instructional areas, such as supervising the student lunch programs, bus duty, playground duty, corridor, self-care (toileting), and other related non-instructional areas. </li><li>Performs other job duties as required or directed by supervisors. </li></ul> <p>Additional Duties:</p> <p>Note: The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities. It is not meant to be all-inclusive of every task or responsibility.</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Experience with ABA </li><li>Experience with collecting data. </li><li>Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. </li><li>Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals. </li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees and others. </li><li>Ability to establish a supportive and compassionate relationship with students with disabilities. </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and others contacted in the course of work. </li><li>Effective writing and verbal communication skills. </li><li>SafetyCare or comparable de-escalation training preferred. </li><li>Able to assist with all aspects of student self-care, including toileting. </li><li>Implement crisis/emergency procedures according to protocol. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications Profile</p> <ul> <li>Highly Qualified; 2 years college credits or equivalent. </li><li>Prior experience working with students with autism preferred. </li><li>RBT or ABA experience preferred </li><li>Safety care training preferred </li></ul> <p>Applications will be considered when submitted via our online application system with POWERSCHOOL UNIFIED TALENT.
