Valid California Driver's License (Class B or Class 2) CDL with restrictions Current California Special Driver's Certificate issued by the California Highway Patrol. Medical certificate and valid first aid certificate are required and must be maintained during the course of employment. One year experience as a school bus driver. Letter of Introduction Resume At least three Signed Letters of Reference less than one year old and one must be from an immediate supervisor. (Electronic signatures are not accepted) EXAMPLE OF DUTIES: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, drive a school bus to transport children between home and school, to athletic events and on field trips; provide the general servicing and cleaning of assigned vehicle.</p> <p>REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: Drive a bus daily, or as assigned, over designated routes in accordance with time schedules, picking up and discharging students; prepare periodic reports regarding vehicle servicing and operation and reports regarding special trips completed; maintain records of pupils transported, mileage and driving hours; conduct daily safety inspections of bus including checking items such as oil gauges, windshield wipers, emergency exits, horns, tires, lights, brakes and turn signals; assume responsibility for safety of children and passengers while in the bus; assist students crossing streets as necessary; transport students and faculty on field trips or to athletic events; make suggestions or select the most appropriate route according to established procedures; maintain good order among the students on the bus; report students who fail to follow instructions or who violate District regulations or State law.
