<p>Survey Manager</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>As a Survey Manager, you will lead a skilled team of professionals supporting a diverse portfolio of projects, including infrastructure, transportation, land development, and environmental services. This role blends strategic oversight, team leadership, and hands-on project involvement.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Recruit, mentor, and retain a high-performing survey team. </li><li>Promote collaboration across disciplines and encourage professional growth. </li><li>Manage performance reviews, team utilization, and workload balancing. </li><li>Oversee technical execution to ensure client expectations are met or exceeded. </li><li>Review scopes, schedules, and cost proposals for accuracy and act as project manager or task lead when needed. </li><li>Align staffing resources with business goals and project demands. </li><li>Implement internal processes, safety protocols, and quality standards. </li><li>Support the adoption of new technologies and continuous improvement initiatives. </li><li>Understand and apply client standards, particularly for public sector clients such as CALTRANS. </li><li>Assist in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to expand regional presence. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Surveying </li><li>Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) </li><li>Land Surveying - 8 years </li><li>Project management </li><li>Supervision </li><li>Civil 3D </li><li>AutoCAD </li><li>Topography </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in any U.S. state (California strongly preferred) </li><li>8+ years of progressive experience in the land surveying field </li><li>Proven track record in staff supervision, project delivery, and client relationship building </li><li>Familiarity with CALTRANS standards and processes is a plus </li><li>Ability to lead with clarity, empathy, and strategic thinking </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>The work environment is hybrid, requiring three days in the office. The culture emphasizes collaboration, learning, accountability, and excellence. The Survey Manager will be managing a team of 20 and reporting to a team of 5.
