The moments we share in the air and on the ground with our customers and our colleagues make United a special place to work and a great way to fly, together.</p> <p>Job overview and responsibilities</p> <p>The Simulator Maintenance & Engineering department has facilities located in both Houston and Denver. The Supervisor, Simulator Maintenance is responsible for the coordination, assignment, tracking and technical evaluation of all maintenance activities for the simulation devices. This position has the supervisory responsibility for employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement. This position requires occasional overtime as per the Working Together Guidelines for management level employees.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Department</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor parts usage and requests to ensure best maintenance and financial practices are followed.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure the FSTDs maintain an acceptable level of training performance</p> </li><li> <p>Manage employee attendance and scheduling (24/7 facility) of employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement</p> </li><li> <p>Manage overtime with work requirements</p> </li><li> <p>Interface with various FSTD manufacturers for issue resolution that is contract based</p> </li><li> <p>Interpret and apply CBA work rules, interfacing with union representatives and HR, and mitigate employee workgroup issues</p> </li><li> <p>Review individual work assignments with the assistance of the Lead Engineers ensuring discrepancies are assigned and corrective action is completed based on training impact</p> </li><li> <p>Compliance</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure FAA 14 CFR Part 60 and SQMS compliance on a daily basis</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor progress and ensure FSTD readiness for annual Continuing qualification (CQ) evaluations</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor the FSTD performance metrics, analyzing trends and coordinating corrective actions where necessary</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor discrepancies and report MMI issues as required under 14 CFR Part 60</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor Preventative Maintenance actions for completion</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor FAA QTG tests for completion in the required time frame and coordinate any remedial activities required to ensure completion</p> </li><li> <p>Communication</p> </li><li> <p>Communication with the Fleet users to obtain feedback on maintenance actions and performance including operation reliability</p> </li><li> <p>Attend the monthly 'How Goes It' meetings between Engineering, Maintenance and the Fleet users, providing the oversight and feedback on the course of action for issue resolution; prepare the documentation for use during the meeting</p> </li><li> <p>Counseling of employees on job performance and/or time and attendance issues; resolving conflict in the workplace</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate and request assistance from the Project Engineering group for resolution of discrepancies requiring greater technical knowledge</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>What's needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):</p> <ul> <li>Five (5) years' experience working as a Simulator Technician or Engineer in a CFR14 Part 60 operation </li><li>High school diploma, GED or education equivalent </li><li>Previous supervisor experience in a Part 60, 121, or 142 maintenance operation managing/supervising employees covered by a CBA </li><li>Knowledge of a Part 60 maintenance operation or knowledge of maintenance and operational requirements in a 121 or142 operation </li><li>Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship </li><li>Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification </li><li>Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position </li></ul> <p>What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):</p> <ul> <li>Five (5) years' experience in the performance of FSTD maintenance activities at a part 121 or 142 training facility </li><li>Bachelor's degree </li><li>Supervision of employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement </li><li>Working knowledge of CBA processes </li><li>Working knowledge of FSTD qualification, maintenance and operational requirements under 14 CFR Part 60 </li></ul> <p>The base pay range for this role is $128,019.60 to $156,468.40.</p> <p>The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills.
