<p>Job Title: Engineering InspectorJob Description</p> <p>The Lead and Asbestos Inspector is responsible for conducting inspections, sampling, and monitoring of buildings and sites for the presence of hazardous materials such as lead-based paint and asbestos-containing materials (ACMs). This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations and supports safe abatement practices.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Conduct building inspections for asbestos, lead, and mold. </li><li>Collect bulk samples and air samples using approved methods. Use XRF devices for lead assessments and perform surface wipe and soil sampling. </li><li>Monitor abatement projects to ensure contractor compliance with regulations. </li><li>Conduct AHERA inspections and re-inspections. </li><li>Maintain detailed field notes, sample logs, and chain-of-custody documentation. </li><li>Prepare technical reports, drawings, and summaries for clients and agencies. </li><li>Upload data to inspection software or submit to CAD teams for drafting. </li><li>Communicate findings to clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies. </li><li>Coordinate with project managers and environmental consultants. </li><li>Provide training and guidance to junior field staff as well as clients during Asbestos Management Plan training. </li><li>Travel frequently to job sites, which may require overnight stays. </li><li>Lift and carry equipment (25-40 lbs), climb ladders, and access confined spaces. </li><li>Adhere to all health and safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Strong knowledge in environmental science. </li><li>Proficiency in using XRF devices for lead assessments. </li><li>Experience in conducting AHERA inspections and re-inspections. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Ability to communicate findings effectively to diverse stakeholders. </li><li>Experience in providing training and guidance to junior staff and clients. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>This position is field-based with frequent travel between job sites, which may include overnight stays. The role requires lifting and carrying equipment (25-40 lbs), climbing ladders, and accessing confined spaces.
