<p>Chief Diversity Officer POSITION DETAILS Bronx Community College (BCC) serves a richly diverse community of more than 10,500 matriculated and non-matriculated students representing over 120 countries. Position Overview Reporting directly to the President, the Chief Diversity Officer (CDO) provides executive leadership and oversight for Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Title IX, ADA/Section 504 compliance, recruitment and hiring practices, Affirmative Action, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives. The CDO oversees and conducts thorough, impartial investigations related to discrimination, harassment, and retaliation complaints and ensures institutional compliance with applicable laws and CUNY policies. Key Responsibilities • Provide leadership on compliance matters related to EEO, sexual harassment, and anti-discrimination policies. • Serve as the College's Title IX Coordinator and Section 504/ADA Coordinator. • Oversee investigations related to: o Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 o Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 o Sections 503 and 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 o The Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) o Harassment and retaliation claims o CUNY policies and other applicable anti-discrimination laws • Serve as a member of the President's Cabinet and senior leadership teams. • Oversee employment and hiring processes, including reviewing search committee composition, conducting search committee charges, recommending advertisement placements, and approving applicant pools. • Prepare and submit required internal and external compliance reports in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree and eight years' relevant experience required. Preferred Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess: • An advanced degree in Public Administration, Human Resources Management, or a related field. • Demonstrated knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles, current trends, and best practices, as well as experience with Affirmative Action (AA) laws and guidelines. • Experience with New York City, New York State, and federal compliance regulations and requirements. • Strong familiarity with Title VII, Title IX Sexual Harassment policies, Section 504, and ADA statutes, including experience investigating claims related to alleged violations. • Proven ability to build constructive relationships, foster consensus, and collaborate effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders at all organizational levels. • Sound judgment, high integrity, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality while demonstrating professionalism and business acumen. • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations, facilitate discussions, and mediate conflict resolution. • Strong analytical, evaluative, and research skills. • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to plan strategically, launch initiatives, and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage change in a dynamic, fast-paced, and service-oriented environment. FLSA Exempt COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Salary range: $140,000 - $155,000, commensurate with education and experience.
