Participation in the program will offer students a multitude of experiences including networking with state employees, resume building and soft skills workshops, agency head panels, and much more.</p> <p>About Indiana Department of Correction (DOC):</p> <p>We promote public safety by providing meaningful, effective opportunities for successful re-entry. As the model of best correctional practices, we strive to return productive citizens to our communities and inspire a culture of accountability, integrity, and professionalism.</p> <p>Role Overview:</p> <p>As an intern with the Division of Youth Services, you will assist in the reintegration of youth into their communities by connecting them with mentoring programs across Indiana. This includes developing relationships with youth during their incarceration and supporting continued connections upon their return home. Additionally, the role entails identifying new resources and local services for the DYS sex offender population and sharing insights with facility treatment teams. Lastly, you will collaborate with the state-wide transition coordinator to develop systems for collecting data on student outcomes.</p> <p>Hourly Rate:</p> <p>The hourly rate for this position is $16.24 for those that do not hold a bachelor's degree and $17.24 for those that hold a bachelor's degree or higher by the time the internship starts.</p> <p>A Day in the Life:</p> <p>The essential functions of this role are as follows:</p> <ul> <li>Identify and execute one major project related to agency needs and academic area of study </li><li>Create, develop, and sustain the programmatic efforts for the assigned discipline </li><li>Analyze data and feedback to provide recommendations </li><li>Partner with other relevant stakeholders to promote and enhance the quality of projects </li><li>Collaborate with State of Indiana agencies to ensure effective implementation of internal and external initiatives </li></ul> <p>The job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
