Our dedicated staff are committed to advancing health equity and making a long-term impact on the health outcomes of the more than 150,000 patients that count on ACCESS as their medical home each year.</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Patient Benefit Specialist is responsible for working directly with patients to ensure a clear understanding of insurance coverage, financial responsibilities, and available payment options.</p> <ul> <li>Conduct benefit orientation and explain financial requirements </li><li>Perform financial assessment interviews and screen for coverage/eligibility </li><li>Verify third-party and other healthcare coverage </li><li>Assist with program enrollment based on assessment results </li><li>Enter and maintain accurate benefit information in EHR </li><li>Support patients with Medicaid applications and redetermination </li><li>Guide patients through the revenue cycle process and support services </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED. </li><li>Minimum of two (2) years of customer service experience. </li><li>Prior experience with All Kids and Moms & Babies (MPE) programs. </li><li>Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Marketplace insurance, and HMO regulations. </li><li>Knowledge of Electronic Health Records (EHR), especially EPIC. </li><li>Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook). </li><li>Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse patient populations. </li><li>Strong organizational and multitasking skills are essential. </li><li>Bilingual in English and Spanish. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions/Equipment</p> <ul> <li>Normal office environment regularly </li><li>Health Center environment occasionally </li><li>Local travel between health centers and community events is required; mode of transportation required </li><li>If personal vehicle is employed, a current driver's license and proof of insurance is required </li><li>If remote/hybrid; requires suitable and secure working environment, acceptable internet speeds, adequate childcare provisions </li></ul> <p>Benefits</p> <ul> <li>Tuition reimbursement and scholarship program </li><li>Comprehensive healthcare coverage including Medical, Dental, and Vision </li><li>Generous PTO after introduction period </li><li>403(B) retirement plan and financial resources to help you save and plan for your retirement </li><li>Life Insurance </li><li>Opportunity to participate in cross-departmental committees to innovate and transform our care delivery model and our workplace </li></ul>
