Structured as a matrix organization of six geographical regions and ten platforms, Louis Dreyfus Company is active in over 100 countries and employs approximately 18,000 people globally.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Overall Purpose & Objectives:</p> <p>The Commodity Handler is responsible for the efficient loading of dried distiller's grains, ethanol, corn oil, and wet cake into feed trucks and rail cars. This role involves the use of mechanical equipment including operating locomotives, meters, scales, computers, and software to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of products while maintaining product safety. Additionally, the Commodity Handler must adhere to all relevant Company policies and government regulations.</p> <p>Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Load final products (DDGS, Ethanol, Corn Oil, wet cake) into trucks and railcars to ensure timely delivery of all handled products. </li><li>Unload grain trucks and railcars as needed to meet the plant's daily production schedules. </li><li>Inspect material handling equipment and perform routine adjustments and minor maintenance as needed. </li><li>Diligently watch and inspect the quality and grading of corn and grains. </li><li>Operate rolling stock equipment to meet department needs such as locomotives, end loaders, RTV's, golf carts, skid loaders, etc. </li><li>Comply with Company safety rules and wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required. </li><li>Report any equipment issues to Shift Leaders in a timely fashion. </li><li>Complete tasks as assigned by Management or Shift Leads. </li></ul> <p>Additional Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Ensure all department areas are kept clean and free from safety hazards which require regular bending and occasional lifting. </li><li>Actively participate in Shift/Team activities including complying with best practices, standard operating procedures, development and maintenance, and continuous improvement efforts. </li><li>Accept/carry out/complete other duties as assigned by Commodities Manager. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education & Experience Requirements/Competencies:</p> <p>High School Diploma/GED</p> <p>Preferred qualification:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures. </li><li>Locomotive Operation and Rail Switching </li><li>Conductor Level 1 </li><li>Hazardous Materials shipping certification course. </li><li>Knowledge of manufacturing regulatory and safety requirements (e.g., OSHA) </li><li>Mechanical aptitude, effective communication skills, basic math, and fundamental PC skills. </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <p>Basic qualification preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Experience in the ethanol industry or commodity handling. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>HOURS: Tuesday-Friday, night shift. 5:45PM-6:00AM</p> <p>Safety, Health and Environmental Requirements</p> <ul> <li>This position is a safety sensitive position and is subject to random drug testing. </li><li>Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time. </li><li>Ability to climb stairs and ladders as well as work at heights; </li><li>Ability to work in confined spaces. </li><li>Ability to work in a variety of temperatures and potential inclement weather. </li><li>Ability to withstand extended periods of walking and standing. </li><li>Ability to move manufacturing materials, products and equipment of 50 pounds or more, which requires bending and lifting. </li><li>Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as is compliant with policies and procedures. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <ul> <li>Extensions of regular working hours are occasionally necessary to complete time-sensitive projects or to respond to emergencies. </li><li>Continuous 24/7 plant operation with?12 Hour Straight Shift (Nights), as well as off-shift call-in requirements when needed. </li><li>Regular exposure to a variety of temperatures and prevailing weather conditions; regular exposure?to gases, vapors, dust,?odors?and flammable liquids; occasional exposure to areas with wet floors and high volume of noise. </li></ul> <p>What We Offer</p> <p>We provide a dynamic and stimulating international environment, which will stretch and develop your abilities and channel your skills and expertise with outstanding career development opportunities in one of the largest and most solid private companies in the world.</p> <ul> <li>Comprehensive benefits program including medical, dental and vision care coverage, flexible spending account plans, employee assistance program, life insurance and disability coverage </li><li>401k with Company Match </li><li>Family Friendly Benefits including childbirth and parental leave, fertility and family building benefits </li><li>Paid Time Off (PTO) and Paid Holidays </li><li>Flexible work available (not applicable to all roles) </li></ul> <p>Diversity & Inclusion</p> <p>LDC is driven by a set of shared values and high ethical standards, with diversity and inclusion being part of our DNA.
