Our stewarding team is essential to keeping culinary operations running smoothly-supporting restaurants, bars, banquets, and in-room dining through behind-the-scenes excellence.</p> <p>The Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in kitchen and service areas by washing dishes, glassware, and cookware; supporting kitchen sanitation; and assisting with back-of-house set-up and breakdown. This role ensures the availability of clean wares and a safe, organized environment for culinary and service teams.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <p>Dishwashing & Ware Handling</p> <ul> <li>Operate dish machines and glass washers safely and effectively. </li><li>Wash, rinse, sanitize, and properly store dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and kitchen tools. </li><li>Sort and handle dirty wares safely; scrape, soak, and pre-rinse items as needed. </li><li>Maintain a steady flow of clean wares to support restaurants, banquets, and culinary production. </li></ul> <p>Kitchen Cleanliness & Sanitation</p> <ul> <li>Keep dishwashing, pot wash, and back-of-house areas clean and organized throughout the shift. </li><li>Clean and sanitize work surfaces, mats, floors, drains, trash areas, and back-of-house common areas per schedule. </li><li>Support deep-cleaning projects, including walls, equipment exteriors, storage areas, and other assigned spaces. </li><li>Handle trash, recycling, and compost (as applicable) and transport to designated areas. </li></ul> <p>Safety & Compliance</p> <ul> <li>Follow proper chemical handling and dilution procedures; maintain labeling and safe storage. </li><li>Use PPE as required and follow safe lifting, slip prevention, and machine safety procedures. </li><li>Adhere to all hotel policies and local health/sanitation requirements. </li></ul> <p>Operational Support</p> <ul> <li>Assist with banquet set-ups and breakdowns (racks, equipment movement, staging) as assigned. </li><li>Support Culinary and F&B teams with restocking, ice runs, and other back-of-house needs as directed. </li><li>Report broken/damaged items, supply shortages, and equipment concerns promptly. </li></ul> <p>This is an hourly position with compensation from $28.83 per hour.</p> <p>We Offer Excellent Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>Free room nights, Discounted and Friends & Family Room Rates </li><li>Medical, Prescription, Dental, and Vision Insurance </li><li>401K with company match </li><li>Paid Vacation, sick days, and holidays </li><li>Paid Family Bonding Time and Adoption Assistance </li><li>Tuition Reimbursement </li><li>Discounts at various retailers - Apple, AT&T, Verizon, Headspace, and many more </li></ul> <p>Why make a good choice when you can make a Classic one by applying for your next career opportunity with a Grand Hyatt hotel?
