We're excited you're considering bringing your expertise to our community.</p> <p>Position Title: Digital Art and AVID Teacher - 0.9 FTE</p> <p>FLSA Status: Exempt</p> <p>FTE: 0.9 FTE</p> <p>Start Date: ASAP</p> <p>Job Summary: Under the direction of the Building Principal, the Licensed Teacher is responsible for developing lesson plans and presenting district curriculum in assigned instructional subjects. This role includes delivering and instructing students, evaluating and assessing student progress, and collaborating with other instructional professionals, administrators, parents, counselors, and other district personnel to address student needs and district learning initiatives.</p> <p>This position is part of the teacher bargaining unit and based at Mahtomedi Middle School.</p> <p>Education Requirement and Experience Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Degree: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Education or relevant instructional subject area. </li><li>License: K-12 Visual Arts license or the ability to obtain appropriate licensure from PELSB, (Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board). </li><li>Experience: Prior successful experience student teaching or teaching in an education setting. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Must be knowledgeable in middle school art standards and curriculum </li><li>Thorough knowledge of the principles and methodologies of effective teaching </li><li>Experience in the use of current and emerging technologies to create photographs, video, audio, computer arts, digital arts, and interactive media for communication </li><li>Well-versed in using the elements of space, time, light, color, motion, and sound to express perspectives and ideas </li><li>Must be able to collaborate with other content areas to support art integration as well as ensure students are exposed to diverse areas of the arts </li><li>Collaborative team member of a Professional Learning Community, (PLC) striving to implement best practices for instruction and assessment </li><li>Seeks opportunities to improve their practice through coaching feedback and ongoing reflection </li><li>Contributes positively to the middle school team of adults who work closely to create a positive and productive student learning experience </li><li>Ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, students and parents </li><li>Excellent communication skills: ability to communicate thoughts and ideas with accuracy and clarity, ability to communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress, student goals and abilities and overall experience in their classroom </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Identify the needs of students through formal and informal assessments </li><li>Plan, develop and implement appropriate lessons to ensure the achievement of student growth </li><li>Communicate with students, parents and staff on regular basis on student progress </li><li>Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies </li><li>Foster a community where all people are valued, respected, seen and heard </li><li>Inspire robust academics, critical and creative thinking and continuous personal growth </li><li>Create world-class learning experiences that integrate multiple perspectives </li><li>Update all necessary records accurately as required by laws, district policies and school regulations </li><li>Attend department, school and parent meetings or functions </li><li>Other job-related duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Salary and Benefits:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Salary:</p> </li><li> <p>Range: $47,708 - $89,281</p> </li><li> <p>Salary placement is based on experience and education level, as per district guidelines.</p> </li><li> <p>Benefits:</p> </li><li> <p>Mahtomedi Public Schools offers a comprehensive benefits program designed to support our employees.
