<p>Description</p> <p>Medical Physicist - Danbury, CT</p> <p>Full-time: 40 hours, Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm</p> <p>Summary:</p> <p>Ensures the safe use and delivery of radiation for radiation oncology procedures. Follows applicable guidance and recommendations from national organizations and ensures compliance with State and Federal regulations.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Maintains quality assurance program for all equipment according to National guidelines and State regulations. </li><li>Provides clinical support for radiation oncology procedures. </li><li>Provides technical leadership in Radiation Oncology. </li><li>Manages the safe use, removal, handling, and storage of sealed and unsealed radioactive sources. </li><li>Guest Relations - Demonstrates regard for the dignity and respect of all patients, family members, visitors and hospital personnel as defined in the philosophy of Nuvance Health. </li><li>Promotes a safe and efficient working environment by adhering to hospital and department policies and procedures. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li><li>Maintains and Models Nuvance Health Values. </li><li>Demonstrates regular, reliable and predictable attendance. </li><li>Performs other duties as required. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Education: Requires a minimum of a Master's degree in Medical Physics. </li><li>Experience: Requires a minimum of two years of experience in the field of medical physics. Preferred minimum of 5 years of clinical experience. </li><li>License: Must either be licensed as Therapy Medical Physicist or be eligible for licensure per State regulations. </li><li>Must either be certified by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) in Therapeutic Medical Physics or similar certification or be eligible to attain board certification. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <p>Manual: Some manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity</p> <p>Occupational: Some occupational risk</p> <p>Physical Effort: Medium to Heavy effort.
