The coach will foster a positive and competitive environment that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, skill development, academic achievement, and personal growth.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Plan, organize, and conduct effective practices and training sessions. </li><li>Teach fundamental skills, strategy, and sportsmanship. </li><li>Develop individual player skills and improve team performance. </li><li>Evaluate athletes' abilities and determine team lineups and game strategies. </li><li>Supervise all team-related activities, including games, practices, travel, and off-season conditioning. </li><li>Maintain discipline and enforce rules and policies outlined by the school and athletic department. </li><li>Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes. </li><li>Promote and build the baseball program at all levels (varsity, junior varsity, feeder systems). </li><li>Maintain inventory and care of equipment and uniforms. </li><li>Coordinate field maintenance and facility use with school staff. </li><li>Monitor academic progress and encourage student-athletes to prioritize education. </li><li>Serve as a mentor and positive role model, fostering leadership and character. </li><li>Maintain open and effective communication with players, parents, school staff, and media. </li><li>Coordinate with assistant coaches and athletic trainers. </li><li>Attend athletic department meetings and fulfill all administrative duties. </li><li>Follow all district, CHSAA, and league rules and regulations. </li><li>Ensure athletes complete required physicals, waivers, and eligibility documentation. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Prior baseball coaching experience (preferably at the high school or collegiate level)</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of the game, strategy, and modern coaching techniques</p> </li><li> <p>Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills</p> </li><li> <p>CPR/First Aid certification</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to pass background and fingerprint clearance</p> </li><li> <p>?Experience in strength and conditioning preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of NCAA eligibility requirements preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Requires evenings, weekends, and travel for games and tournaments.</p> </li><li> <p>Outdoor work in varied weather conditions.</p> </li><li> <p>Active role involving physical demonstration and participation.</p> </li></ul> <p>Salary and Benefits:</p> <p>The salary for this position is 10% of base teacher salary ($4925 per season for the 2025-2026 school year), as well as enrollment in a PERA retirement plan and unemployment insurance. Candidates who have previously coached baseball or Weld Re-9 are eligible for $150 per year as an experience factor. Coaching at other districts or schools does not count towards the experience factor.</p>
