<p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The Director of Academics is responsible for all strategic planning, vision-setting, cross-campus coordination, and high-level oversight in these five domains (curriculum and assessment, EdTech leadership, innovation programs, online course design, and PD strategy). Routine, transactional, or data-entry tasks within each domain can be assigned to dedicated support staff--ensuring the Director's time is focused on advancing best practices, collaborating with principals, and driving a Christ-centered, future-forward academic vision.</p> <p>Responsibilities Include:</p> <p>Curriculum, Standards & Assessment Oversight</p> <ul> <li>Lead the curation and ongoing revision of curriculum documents (standards, scope-and-sequence maps, Courses of Study) across all four campuses. </li><li>Coordinate PK-12 assessment strategy, including standardized testing (MAP, ACT, PSAT, AP) and data-driven review with counseling and subject-area leads. </li><li>Facilitate regular cross-campus meetings with department leads to ensure vertical and horizontal alignment of curriculum and instructional practice. </li></ul> <p>Educational Technology Leadership</p> <ul> <li>Set strategic direction for Canvas?LMS and other classroom-learning platforms, ensuring they serve PK-12 pedagogical goals. </li><li>Oversee budgeting, procurement, and cataloguing of all curricular and instructional-technology materials (including state auxiliary/ODE funds). </li><li>Define and maintain protocols for technology integration-partnering with IT and AV vendors-to advance a flexible, future-ready learning ecosystem. </li></ul> <p>Professional Development & Teacher Growth</p> <ul> <li>Develop and implement a PK-12 professional-learning strategy, including in-service days, workshops, and partnerships (e.g. federal Title funding). </li><li>Oversee the teacher-evaluation system in partnership with principals, ensuring it aligns to best-practice pedagogy and Christian principles. </li><li>Manage major PD funding streams (Title, Innovation Fund, tuition reimbursement), set policy, and track equity of access across campuses. </li></ul> <p>Innovation & Online Learning</p> <ul> <li>Articulate and drive growth of student innovation programs (robotics, e-sports, entrepreneurship), ensuring they reflect the school's mission and expand pipelines. </li><li>Oversee design and management of the CHCA Online course catalogand ensure continual refresh as new tools emerge. </li></ul> <p>Tasks to Delegate to Support Staff</p> <p>(These are operational or transactional tasks better handled by specialists or coordinators reporting to the Director.)</p> <p>Day-to-Day EdTech Operations</p> <ul> <li>Light triage of help-desk tickets, basic troubleshooting, and user-account support in Canvas. </li><li>Asset tracking and inventory management of classroom devices and AV equipment. </li><li>Processing purchase orders, vendor communications, and budget reconciliation entries </li></ul> <p>Assessment Logistics</p> <ul> <li>Scheduling test administrations (MAP, ACT, PSAT, AP), room assignments, and communication with students/families. </li><li>Data entry of assessment results into reporting systems and initial generation of score reports. </li></ul> <p>Program Support & Communications</p> <ul> <li>Managing social-media posts, newsletters, and event-promotion logistics for innovation programs. </li><li>Coordinating day-to-day operations of robotics, e-sports, and student-run help-desk teams. </li></ul> <p>Professional Development Administration</p> <ul> <li>Tracking individual teacher PD participation, maintaining LPDC records, and processing tuition-reimbursement paperwork. </li><li>Handling room bookings, materials distribution, and registration for workshops and in-service sessions. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree in Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field </li><li>5-10+ years of experience in education or instructional leadership </li><li>Strong leadership and organizational skills </li><li>Deep understanding of instructional design and pedagogy </li><li>Data-driven decision-making </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication </li><li>Familiarity with education standards and regulatory requirements </li><li>Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS) and other edtech tools </li><li>Proven experience in: </li><li>Curriculum development </li><li>Staff supervision and training </li><li>Program assessment and accreditation </li><li>Budget management (in some roles) </li></ul> <p>CHCA is an equal opportunity employer.
