<p>Division/Unit: Construction Management Unit</p> <p>CS Title: Community Coordinator</p> <p>Position Title: Supervisor, AC Mechanic</p> <p>Salary Range: $85,000 - $95,677</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>The New York County District Attorney's Office (DANY), Construction Management Unit seeks a Supervisor, Air Condition (AC) Mechanic with advanced knowledge and experience in inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and installing ventilation, refrigeration, air conditioning, and related auxiliary systems and equipment. The Senior AC Mechanic (under direct supervision) works collaboratively with other technicians and mechanics in performing maintenance and repairs of AC equipment to fully serve DANY's internal customer base at all DANY facilities and locations.</p> <p>Responsibilities include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Assist management in overseeing the DANY AC service operations and maintenance. </li><li>Assist management in developing and implementing strategies to optimize DANY AC service operations and maintenance. </li><li>Maintain, install, inspect, test, alter, and repair air conditioners and components, such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, fans, motors, electrical and electronic controls, and valves. </li><li>Utilize powered and non-powered hand tools and equipment, test meters, solders and brazes in performing air conditioning related work. </li><li>Utilize schematic diagrams and technical manuals and drawings to perform air conditioning work. </li><li>Clean and lubricate all components of air conditioning systems and equipment. </li><li>Conduct daily inspections of all DANY window, split and central air conditioning systems. </li><li>Service and repair leaks in refrigerant gasses with gauges, and detectors on all DANY window air conditioners, split and central air conditioner systems. </li><li>Service and repair thermostats, controllers, and sensors on all DANY window, split and central air conditioning systems. </li><li>Install window and split air conditioning systems. </li><li>Dismantle and/or assemble equipment associated with ventilation, refrigeration, air conditioning, and mechanical systems to make it operational. </li><li>Respond to alarms regarding climate issues in equipment rooms and offices </li><li>Meet with vendors who will be performing major air conditioning repairs. </li><li>Submit requisitions for parts as required to make repairs on air conditioning systems. </li><li>Review contractor proposals related to air conditioning installations in renovated spaces. </li><li>Create and maintain records related to air conditioning and equipment servicing and repairs. </li><li>Prepare and submit reports related to air conditioning systems and related equipment, </li><li>Operate a motor vehicle to and from job sites. </li><li>Load and unload tools, equipment, and materials </li><li>Comply with all of DANY policies and protocols. </li><li>Comply with all Unit policies, protocols, and standards. </li><li>Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualification Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or </li><li>High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or </li><li>Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above. </li></ul> <p>Additional Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Sufficient training of a relevant nature acquired in an approved trade or vocational high school to make up the equivalent of the remaining required experience. Six months of acceptable experience will be credited for each year of approved trade or vocational high school. </li><li>License & Certificate Requirements: </li><li>Valid New York State Motor Vehicle Driver License. </li><li>608 Certificate issued by EPA for Handling Refrigerants. </li><li>Valid FDNY burn certificate. </li><li>Valid FDNY fire watch certificate. </li><li>OSHA 30 or SST card </li></ul> <p>Preferred Requirements:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Strong AC technical knowledge and experience, including installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.</p> </li><li> <p>Must possess relevant valid AC technician license requirements and certificates.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge and proficiency in using computer software and applications related to AC service management such as Building Management System (BMS)</p> </li><li> <p>Proficient in reading and interpreting AC blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with relevant codes, regulations, safety practices, and best practices in the AC industry.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, technicians, and other stakeholders.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to multi-task, prioritize work assignments, and adapt to changing priorities in a fat-paced environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work in a team collaborative environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Must possess a positive attitude.</p> </li><li> <p>Must possess strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Available to work the following shift:</p> </li><li> <p>Days: Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.</p> </li><li> <p>Hours: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.</p> </li><li> <p>Available to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime assignments on short notice.</p> </li></ul> <p>How to Apply:</p> <ul> <li>Apply with a Cover Letter and Resume. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <ul> <li>Current office employees: To be eligible for a transfer or promotion, staff must have already served at least 1 year in their current unit/bureau/department and be in good standing.
