<p>This is a responsible, semi-skilled position performing watering duties for park maintenance, Park Specialists work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions. This position will have a varied schedule with at least one weekend day each week.Work is performed under the general direction of the Parks-Forestry Manager.  Position may serve as crew leader and/or lead worker as directed by supervisory staff.  Work is inspected and reviewed through written performance evaluations.(May not include all duties performed.)</p> <ul> <li>Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with citizens, vendors, city and departmental staff is needed </li><li>Ability to operate and maneuver a non-CDL truck with skid-mounted sprayer to perform daily watering duties </li><li>Ability to problem solve, complete equipment inspections and provide basic maintenance </li><li>Ability to learn pump operations, to regulate flow and pressure for varying circumstances </li><li>Provides and fulfills staffing needs responding to absentee coverage </li><li>Ability to work within all standard safety practices associated with the trade in order to maintain a safe working environment </li><li>Performs other related duties as required </li><li>Ability to lift 50 pounds </li><li>Ability to work in varying weather conditions </li><li>Possession at the time of appointment of a high school diploma or equivalent is required </li><li>Demonstrated, self- motivated and independent workers are preferred </li><li>Possession of valid Ohio Driver's license is required </li></ul> <p>Statement on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: At the City of Westerville, we share a commitment to a diverse, inclusive and equitable community.
