<p>Natural Resource Scientist</p> <p>Department: Geoenvironmental</p> <p>Employment Type: Full Time</p> <p>Location: Maumee, OH</p> <p>Reporting To: Matt Pesci</p> <p>Description</p> <p>The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. (MSG) is a people focused, award-winning, full-service consulting firm that offers a wide array of services including civil and geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, planning, landscape architecture, agriculture, surveying and construction support. Our talented staff of more than 650+ professionals deliver integrated planning, design, engineering and construction solutions.</p> <p>Due to MSG's continued growth, a new opening is available for a Natural Resource Scientist to assist with projects with our Ohio Geoenvironmental team.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Be a point person for MSG with ecological regulatory agencies such as U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Ohio EPA, Michigan's EGLE, ODNR, and ODOT to aid in our role as trusted advisor to our clients. </li><li>Complete delineations of jurisdictional wetlands and streams in accordance with federal and state guidelines, and lead the preparation of comprehensive environmental permit applications, including Section 404/401, NPDES, and local development permits. </li><li>Conduct research and help prepare grant applications, concept plans, and proposals for ecological restoration and conservation funding; support both field and office-based tasks to advance project goals and meet client and regulatory deadlines. </li></ul> <p>Skills, Knowledge and Expertise</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, Natural Resources, Environmental Engineering, or a related field </li><li>5+ years of professional experience in ecological restoration, permitting, or environmental consulting </li><li>Experience preparing permit applications for Section 404/401, NPDES, or state equivalents </li><li>Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations (e.g., Clean Water Act Sections 404/401, NEPA, Endangered Species Act) </li><li>Strong technical writing skills for environmental reports, permit applications, and ecological assessments </li><li>AutoCAD and/or GIS experience is a plus </li></ul> <p>Benefits</p> <ul> <li>401(k) w/ company match </li><li>Health insurance w/ HSA option, Vision, Dental, Life </li><li>Flexible schedule </li><li>Paid time off </li><li>Referral program </li><li>Tuition reimbursement </li><li>Catalytic Coaching - Employees draft a development plan aimed at improving contributions in their current job and increasing the potential for other opportunities.
