<p>Job Title: Aviation Technical Procedure Writer</p> <p>Department: Service Department</p> <p>Reports to: James Schaefer</p> <p>Schedule: 7:30am-4:00pm</p> <p>Facility location: Chester, CT</p> <p>Summary: The Repair Department is a part of Whelen's Customer Service Department. Electronic Technicians repair or replace products that are sent in from the field that need to be serviced. This involves working all the way to the component level of the circuit and replacing those components or replacing the entire circuit board.</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for creating and updating Repair Instructions. </li><li>Responsible for creating and updating Technical Binders. </li><li>Coordinate with Whelen's Aviation Chief Engineer and our Designated Engineering Representative (DER) on the development and updating of the Repair Instructions. </li><li>Conduct periodic reviews to ensure the Repair Instructions and associated Technical Data Binders are current. </li><li>Monitor Engineering Change Notices (ECN) and update Repair Instructions and associated Technical Data Binder as required. </li><li>Assist in the training of FAA Certified Repairmen on the Repair Instructions. </li><li>Whelen reserves the right to move personnel between departments to cover workloads based on department needs </li><li>Other duties, as needed. </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Good writing and proofreading skills. </li><li>Write in a clear and concise manner and be able to convey written instructions to the Repair Stations Staff. </li><li>Skilled in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel. </li><li>Strong interviewing and listening skills. </li><li>Ability to work with aviation lighting and test equipment. </li><li>Ability to communicate and work with the Repair Stations technicians and management during the development and maintenance of the Repair Instructions. </li><li>Ability to pay attention to detail </li><li>Ability to balance work on several projects at a time </li><li>Excellent time management and organizational skills </li><li>Good team working skills </li><li>Flexibility </li><li>Team Player </li></ul>
