<p>The Math Learning Center (MLC) at Boise State provides support and instruction for foundational mathematics courses, and up through precalculus. These courses are closely coordinated to ensure consistency in instruction and student support across sections. MLC courses are: MATH 103, 133, 143, 144, and 149.</p> <p>The Mathematics Department offers a full range of college-level courses, including calculus and more advanced subjects such as linear algebra, differential equations, and abstract mathematics. These classes support both general education and specialized study for STEM and math majors. Some Math Department courses are coordinated, and if you are selected to teach, you would be connected with the course coordinator for support and guidance.</p> <p>The MLC and Math Department maintain a shared pool of adjuncts who are able to teach primarily in-person classes. Classes meet during the typical workday with some early morning and evening sections available as well. Courses are coordinated in terms of materials and assessments; attendance at some coordination meetings may be required. Adjuncts can teach up to 11 credits per semester; this could include a mix of courses across Math and MLC.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates effective teaching and willingness to pursue scholarly activities, particularly with respect to evidence-based teaching practices. </li><li>Actively supports and encourages an atmosphere focused on student learning and success. </li><li>Applies appropriate policies and regulations and maintains positive working relationships with others within the University, College, Department and/or MLC. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of Bachelor of Science in Mathematics or related field; mathematics education preferred. </li><li>Teaching experience preferred. </li></ul> <p>Salary:</p> <p>Wage follows current university policy on adjunct rates.</p> <p>Required Application Materials:</p> <p>Please complete the Adjunct Application Form to submit your application material for consideration as an Adjunct Mathematics Instructor at Boise State.</p> <p>Teaching opportunities may become available throughout the academic year.
