<p>Date Posted:</p> <p>2025-07-15</p> <p>Country:</p> <p>United States of America</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>HIA32: Cedar Rapids, IA 400 Collins Rd NE , Cedar Rapids, IA, 52498-0505 USA</p> <p>Position Role Type:</p> <p>Unspecified</p> <p>U.S. Citizen, U.S. Person, or Immigration Status Requirements:</p> <p>Security Clearance:</p> <p>Rockwell Collins Inc. d/b/a Collins Aerospace has an opening for a Principal Engineer, Project Engineering in Cedar Rapids, IA.</p> <p>Joining Collins Aerospace isn't just about finding a job; it's about embarking on a journey to redefine the future of aerospace technology.</p> <p>What YOU will do</p> <ul> <li>Direct all phases of safety engineering for programs from inception through completion. </li><li>Serve as liaison between airplane project management (Boeing), Systems and Safety project management (Collins), planning, stake holder project teams (Systems, HW, SW) and line management. </li><li>Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets for small to mid-size projects and suggests appropriate adjustments to ensure adherence to the established project plan, schedule, and budget. </li><li>Record and document delay, changes in scope, and any other incidents that impact the scope of work or schedule to ensure smooth project operations. </li><li>Pursue all cost saving opportunities to maximize project profitability. </li><li>Perform critical path analysis and prepare and implement work-around plans to ensure the successful completion of projects. </li><li>Conduct meetings, consolidates, and present plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the project(s). </li><li>Identify and react to project problems and recommends solutions, such as reallocating resources or changing contractual specifications. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications You Must Have</p> <ul> <li>Must possess at least a bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or related field and 8 years of progressive experience as a Systems Engineer, Software Engineer, Safety Engineer or related role. Alternatively, must possess at least a master's degree or its equivalent in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or related field and 5 years of experience as a Systems Engineer, Software Engineer, Safety Engineer or related role would be acceptable. </li><li>Must possess at least 5 years working on Avionics Displays Systems. </li><li>Must possess at least 5 years of experience leading teams of engineers to project completion. </li><li>Must possess at least 5 years mentoring engineers in Systems and Safety concepts. </li><li>Must possess at least 5 years of experience working with ARP4754. </li><li>Must possess at least 2 years of experience working with ARP4761. </li><li>Non-US Person - Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the company's immigration sponsorship now or in the future. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
