<p>Job Description:</p> <p>POSITION: Math Interventionist</p> <p>SCHOOL: Newtown High School, Sandy Hook, CT 06482</p> <p>STARTING DATE: August 24, 2026</p> <p>REMUNERATION: As per Teachers' Contract</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Must hold CT Teaching Certificate in Mathematics Grades 7-12 </li><li>Must understand best practices in instruction and assessment for students demonstrating gaps in learning. </li><li>Ability to utilize technology to support instruction. </li><li>Possesses exceptional communication skills and has a proven track record of working collaboratively with colleagues, administrators and families. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Collaborates with building and district administration to design, implement, and improve school-based MTSS processes. </li><li>Collects and analyzes data to monitor the effectiveness of MTSS Tier I, II and III math interventions. </li><li>Consults with and provides coaching to mathematics teachers on effective implementation of MTSS Tier 1 support strategies. </li><li>Delivers push-in support within classrooms to reinforce learning in real time. </li><li>Provides pull-out targeted support to students identified through the MTSS process as eligible for math services in individual and/or small group settings. </li><li>Analyzes PSAT math data to identify areas of need, form targeted student groups, and provide focused instruction to help improve math SAT performance. </li></ul> <p>The Newtown Public School District values the benefits that a diverse workforce brings to our students and community.
