<p>DIVISION: Community Health - Women, Infants and Children -WIC</p> <p>NUTRITIONIST - Part Time #935</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for providing nutrition counseling and education, promoting breastfeeding, performing WIC certifications, prescribing food packages, and issuing EBT benefits for WIC participants. Team oriented environment.</p> <p>SALARY: $25.57/hour.</p> <p>HOURS: 28 hours per week, currently Monday through Friday, requires clinic work with scheduled hours between 7am-7pm.</p> <p>JOB FUNCTION:</p> <ul> <li>Provides appropriate individual and group nutrition counseling in accordance with WIC guidelines </li><li>Assists participants in determining nutrition goals to achieve before their next visit </li><li>Documents participant notes in WIC MIS (IWIC) to ensure continuity of care as outlined in WIC policy </li><li>Performs anthropometric and lab procedures according to WIC guidelines and records findings </li><li>Assigns risk factors and WIC food packages accordingly </li><li>Prepares lesson plans and provides innovative nutrition education </li><li>Plans and provides nutrition literature to reinforce education provided </li><li>Follows WIC procedures in providing medically prescribed formulas </li><li>Willingness to work at any WIC locations within the county </li><li>Support breastfeeding promotion and education </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics or an Illinois Registered Nurse.</p> <p>May have Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences with minimum of 8 college courses from an accredited institution in Health Sciences. One from each of the following areas:</p> <ul> <li>Biology </li><li>Human Anatomy </li><li>Human Physiology </li><li>Infant Growth and Development </li><li>Introduction to Clinical Research </li><li>Nutrition </li><li>Psychology or Counseling Skills or Communication Skills </li><li>Sociology or Cultural Sensitivity or Cultural Anthropology </li><li>Safe driving record with valid and current Illinois driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle and proof of automobile insurance. </li></ul> <p>BENEFITS:</p> <ul> <li>3 Medical plans, 2 dental plans, and 2 vision plans to choose from. </li><li>Pension: Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) </li><li>Nationwide Retirement Solutions (457 and Roth457) plans </li><li>Standard Life insurance policy with the option to buy up additional coverage for EE and dependents. </li><li>Paid vacation, sick, and personal days. </li></ul> <p>McHenry County is an equal opportunity employer.
