Reasonable accommodation for the specific disability will be made for the incumbent/applicant only to the extent medically and reasonably feasible.</p> <p>An Equal Opportunity Employer</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting the Surveyor in all aspects of land surveying.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Researches records and legal documents to provide information on which planning, and decision making, is made. </li><li>Conducts on-site inspection of roads, subdivisions, public complaints, and right of way. </li><li>Prepares drawings, land descriptions, survey plots, and graphics artwork/illustrations from on-site inspections. </li><li>Reports to the County Department requesting research or reports for specific projects. </li><li>Conducts special projects as requested; assists the general public. </li></ul> <p>SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Performs other related duties as required. </li></ul> <p>PERSONNEL SUPERVISED: None</p> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in a smoking-restricted office environment. Occasional travel to other County facilities is required.</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li></li><li>Good knowledge of land surveying practices, techniques, and procedures. </li><li>Good knowledge of state and local surveying laws and regulations. </li><li>Good knowledge of Global Position Satellite Surveying methods. </li><li>Good knowledge of mapping software. </li><li>Ability to maintain detailed records regarding surveys and land descriptions. </li><li>Ability to read and interpret deeds, legal descriptions, maps, and other documents related to land boundaries. </li><li>Ability to attend work regularly and reliably. </li><li>Skill in the operation of survey equipment, including standard and Global Position Surveying Systems satellite. </li><li>Skill in the use of a computer. </li><li>Skill in the use of a calculator. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li></li><li>Digital dexterity is necessary for keyboard operation. </li><li>Visual acuity is needed for use of a computer monitor. </li><li>Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. </li><li>Ability to concentrate for long periods of time. </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:</p> <p>Completion of high school or equivalency; some experience performing within the Civil Engineering field; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.</p> <p>Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a motor vehicle report.</p> <p>In addition to pre-employment checks, employees who operate county vehicles are required to undergo an annual motor vehicle report.</p> <p>This position is safety-sensitive and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.</p> <p>Must possess or be able to immediately obtain a valid Arkansas driver's license.</p> <p>Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.</p> <p>#ZR</p>
